Gossip Girl’s possible real-life couple, Penn Badgley and Blake Lively, were spotted smooching while shopping on 5th Ave. Saturday.
That’s according to the New York Daily News, which also reports that before the writers strike shut down production, things had gotten quite clique-y on the set of the sexy freshman CW hit.
Also, if you don’t want to know the identity (at least according to the Daily News) of the title character — an unseen narrator voiced by Kristen Bell — the mother of all Gossip Girl spoilers (which we don’t believe) lies ahead.
“Leighton Meester and Blake Lively avoid each other like the plague while castmates choose sides,” says a snitch on the set.
NOTE: Blake Lively denies this in the new Teen Vogue.
“Chace Crawford tends to stick close to Leighton, while Penn Badgley hangs on and offscreen with Blake,” the spy said. “The crew will snag Blake for a scene just moments before it is shot so they can avoid any awkwardness with Leighton.”
If that’s true, it’s so high school!
And as for the Gossip Girl spoiler about the title character’s identity?
“Since the writers’ strike, the team hasn’t decided how or when to reveal who Gossip Girl is, but it is Eric van der Woodsen (Connor Paolo).”
So Gossip Girl is really Gossip Guy? Come on.

There is no way that Eric is Gossip Girl, In truth no one is
Gossip Girl… It was never revealed in the books. I actually
remember reading a posting on a web forum by the author before
the series started on tv that Gossip Girl wasn’t ever going to
be revealed as one of the main characters. Gossip Girl is her
own character and will forever stay anonymous.
That being said the tv series is very different from the book
series so I suppose if they want to reveal Gossip Girl they
could choose any character they want. I kinda hope that if
they do decide to reveal her they make it a whole new character
with Kristen Bell in the roll. She would be awesome.

Eric cannot be Gossip Girl. First off, he’s not a girl. Second, he and his sister are closer(at least in the books they are.) And guys don’t normally gossip like that, girls do. I really don’t like this character in the show at all. He’s suposed to be away at college.(Brown, if I remember correctly.)
I highly doubt the people who made the show would reveal who Gossip Girl is, at least not in the first season.

I love the books!there is alot of stuff missing from the show though.
i think blair is my favorite,but in the show she sounds like
a total bitch.The one thing that needs improved is the show.
I mean come on how are you goin to have such a good book then
turn around and have a sucky show.The cast in the show is
great.They could use more script from the book.Thats why most
people watch it anyway because its based on the book.

First, most of you guys sound sooo stupid. OBV it isnt Eric…gg posted mean things about serena…and eric wouldnt do that. Also, in the book he was away at college…so maybe the reason they didnt copy the character from the book is because they wanted HIM to be gg…but i think that is highly unlikely. The show is amazing and i doubt they would ruin that by putting eric as gg.
WHAT I REALLY THINK is that Kirsten Bell will bcome a character on the show and will be the gossip girl. I dont think she would have done the show by being just a voice. I think that she will be introduced in the second season and WE will know who gg is but the characters still wont for awhile….

weird!!!! As far as I can tell it is chuck because is one of
the episodes it shows him sending a text msg from GG not to.
In the books it does not say who GG is but only suggests Chuck
because he is the only one who doesn’t go to college and he’ll
be there to see it all.

I have read loads of spoilers and comments from different people. and as much as it apins me to say it, I think it is eric! Everyone keeps saying he has to be gay if he is GG and it has been revealed that one of the male characters is gay! Also remember in ‘Dare devil’ when jenny goes to help eric escape, and she walks into the room and he is on his laptop and closes it as soon as she walks in! I think it might be eric, although I’m not sure I want it to be him.
I would prefer it to be Jenny, but then again how would she know all this stuff that is published by gg?

from the books. In the books he is off at college, but in the show he is there to witness it all.

I think that seeing as I have heard all these rumours that Eric van der Woodsen is gay, it’s possible that he is GG but I agree that it would totally ruin it. I would have thought that they’d have maybe let us know who GG is in the second last episode of the last season that they were going to do of it… although I guess it’s hard to know.

Eric: As previously mentioned, he will soon be an “out of the
closet” homosexual. Would the writers of Gossip girl be so
stereotypical to make the guy guy the gossip queen, like the
Perez of gossip girl? Eric is too close to his sister to be
the source of some of the very harsh gossip that has been
directed towards her and her friends. If Eric is indeed
gossip girl, I hope the writers find a clever way to do it.
Jenny: I get the impression she is a big fan of Gossip girl,
as a girl trying to climb her way to the top. But I don’t
think that it’s Jenny. She’s too close to the people gossip
girl attacks.
To me, gossip girl should be a character who’s around, but
doesn’t have extremely close connections with the other
characters. Like maybe one of the girls from Blair’s Posse.
I don’t know if Gossip girl should be an entirely new
character, because we should have definitely already seen her
without even realizing it.
I would also be content if the Identity of Gossip Girl is
never revealed. Knowing the Identity will most likely alter
the show in a very severe way. Unless the Identity is
revealed, and then someone else takes over.
