Eric: As previously mentioned, he will soon be an "out of the
closet" homosexual. Would the writers of Gossip girl be so
stereotypical to make the guy guy the gossip queen, like the
Perez of gossip girl? Eric is too close to his sister to be
the source of some of the very harsh gossip that has been
directed towards her and her friends. If Eric is indeed
gossip girl, I hope the writers find a clever way to do it.
Jenny: I get the impression she is a big fan of Gossip girl,
as a girl trying to climb her way to the top. But I don't
think that it's Jenny. She's too close to the people gossip
girl attacks.
To me, gossip girl should be a character who's around, but
doesn't have extremely close connections with the other
characters. Like maybe one of the girls from Blair's Posse.
I don't know if Gossip girl should be an entirely new
character, because we should have definitely already seen her
without even realizing it.
I would also be content if the Identity of Gossip Girl is
never revealed. Knowing the Identity will most likely alter
the show in a very severe way. Unless the Identity is
revealed, and then someone else takes over.

I think that seeing as I have heard all these rumours that Eric van der Woodsen is gay, it's possible that he is GG but I agree that it would totally ruin it. I would have thought that they'd have maybe let us know who GG is in the second last episode of the last season that they were going to do of it... although I guess it's hard to know.
Ew. Eric. Why would they do that?!

Eric van der Woodsen could be GG. The show is really different
from the books. In the books he is off at college, but in the show he is there to witness it all.

never revealed in the books.

Eric cannot be Gossip Girl
1) that's stupid
2) why would he ruin his own sister's life, some of the rumors involve her
3) if he was in some clinic would he really be allowed to go on a computer without anyone realising he was posting gossip

to be honest i think gossip girl being revealed would be noticed for a day then nobody would care
at this point the characters dont really care who gossip girl is
it is merely used as a plot device to reveal the odd secret and add "mary-alice" type narration to the show
the identity is unimportant, and revelation would ruin it

I think that GG is Eric because he is gay and he has access to all insider information. Maybe he is tired of the hypocrisy and hiding and that's why he does the GG... and maybe that is why he wanted to coomit suicide.

I am so with Aylilli about Jenny being Gossip Girl. She's done that "I know" thing you mentioned twice!
And there's that weird thing where she knows where Serena is in the first episode and convinces her brother to go.

ok people im bursting bubbles in the books gossip girl describes her clothes a few times including a crocheted bikini yep thats right this was also the time when serena was in the snow so if eric is gossip girl he is

I have read loads of spoilers and comments from different people. and as much as it apins me to say it, I think it is eric! Everyone keeps saying he has to be gay if he is GG and it has been revealed that one of the male characters is gay! Also remember in 'Dare devil' when jenny goes to help eric escape, and she walks into the room and he is on his laptop and closes it as soon as she walks in! I think it might be eric, although I'm not sure I want it to be him.
I would prefer it to be Jenny, but then again how would she know all this stuff that is published by gg?

Ummmm I'm pretty sure that GG is not eric it would just me too
weird!!!! As far as I can tell it is chuck because is one of
the episodes it shows him sending a text msg from GG not to.
In the books it does not say who GG is but only suggests Chuck
because he is the only one who doesn't go to college and he'll
be there to see it all.

A dont think so, in a thin line Erik ask serena about the pregnancy test after he reeds it fron gossip girl, I dont think Erik would print that tipe of story about his sister, he seems really consern about it.

First, most of you guys sound sooo stupid. OBV it isnt Eric...gg posted mean things about serena...and eric wouldnt do that. Also, in the book he was away at college...so maybe the reason they didnt copy the character from the book is because they wanted HIM to be gg...but i think that is highly unlikely. The show is amazing and i doubt they would ruin that by putting eric as gg.
WHAT I REALLY THINK is that Kirsten Bell will bcome a character on the show and will be the gossip girl. I dont think she would have done the show by being just a voice. I think that she will be introduced in the second season and WE will know who gg is but the characters still wont for awhile....
I'm calling it all out now kids, this is what is going to happen.

LOL. Eric...gossip girl? If that's really all the writers can come up with...well, it really is just pretty pathetic. I don't think it's true, buit if it is, I think that what they WANTED was to have GG be someone REALLY unexpected. So yeah, Eric is REALLLLY unexpected. So unexpected to a point that it's just stupid.
