The Gossip Girl cast - Jessica Szohr, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick, Blake Lively, Chace Crawford, Taylor Momsen and Leighton Meester - collectively made People magazine’s Most Beautiful list. No argument here!
The beautiful and talented cast of Gossip Girl.
On-screen, they are gorgeous, scheming, back-stabbing high schoolers. Off-screen… oh who are we kidding, they are still gorgeous. But fortunately, they’re somewhat kinder to one another.
“I assure you,” Badgley says, “we are all fun and charming as hell.”

This isn’t a Gossip Girl spoiler in the true sense, as we don’t fully know the answer. But we think we are getting closer to figuring out Serena’s secret thanks to a new clip and a comment by one of our readers.
Calling attention to the promo clip for next Monday’s episode, “All About My Brother,” this Gossip Girl fan has an interesting theory as to just what the heck Serena and Georgina did.
Our guess: Nate. Or some other dude. What we’re saying is that it looks like a Serena van der Woodsen (gulp) sex tape might exist.
Check out the clip below and see what you think.
Distressed, Serena is watching a video on her laptop, in which there appear to be female and male voices speaking her name, followed by moaning of some kind. Yeah. This looks scandalous …

It’s our favorite show no matter what, but just how realistic is Gossip Girl? The fun New York Magazinerating system attempts to answer this, taking into account the real and surreal moments from each episode.
According to the show’s unofficial publication, this week’s new episode, “Desperately Seeking Serena,” rated even on the realism scale. Below are some excerpts from this New York Magazine feature …
They exclusively refer to Nelly Yuki by both of her names, even when addressing her to her face. In high school Asians are always two-namers. Plus 3.
Nate Archibald’s dad going into rehab was “on the front page of every newspaper in the city”?? We didn’t get to see that in an episode? Robbed! Minus 2.
We love how, on TV, people sit down for one drink and it always automatically cuts to them being drunk. Serena has one Cosmo and then we cut to her being a whore. Let’s be honest, that’s exactly how it happens in real life. Plus 2.
Georgina drinks Cosmopolitans? She has her own COKE dealer. Crazyface is not drinking Cosmos. Minus 1.
Serena van der Woodsen can never solve her own problems. She always calls Chuck, Dan, even Blair to help her out. So real. She’s pretty. Other people fix things for her. Plus 2.
Isabel made a joke about booking a flight to Tel Aviv in reference to going to study at Jenny’s? Is that a joke about Kati fleeing the country? Or the Humphreys living in war-torn territory. Either way, not clear, and probably offensive. Minus 2.
Nate did that thing all attractive boys do when they want to kiss you. All they have to do is get their face near yours, not even saying anything, and you have to kiss them. It’s a law of nature. Plus 2. Another Plus 2 because nervous Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) is making wry commentary throughout the whole thing.
Georgina finds Dan in the park (Minus 2, you can’t randomly find someone in the park, and where the hell did that golden retriever come from). Another Minus 2 because Dan would clearly be too worried about Serena to flirt with someone else.

While we’ve been fixated on the two biggest Gossip Girl spoilers - who comes out of the closet, and Serena’s secret - here’s another we came across this morning.
An insider on the set of Gossip Girl reports that someone on the show overdoses in the second-to-the-last episode this season.
That would be the week after next. “All About My Brother” is the next Gossip Girl episode, set for May 5. “Woman On The Verge,” scheduled for May 12, is the episode in question.
“Things go down, there’s a lot of OMG moments,” star Chace Crawford recently revealed on E!’s Daily 10. “It’s good.”
Which of these characters will suffer an overdose on Gossip Girl? Or will it be someone new? Got any ideas? Share them with the Insider!

Jessica Szohr plays Vanessa Abrams, the BFF of Gossip Girl leading man Dan Humphrey. Vanessa is Dan’s childhood best friend who has returned to New York, realizing that she is in love with Dan.
Naturally, this throws a wrench into Dan’s relationship with Upper East Side princess Serena van der Woodsen - but as we saw, perhaps there’s a new romance on the horizon for Vanessa, as well!
Jessica recently gave an interview with BuddyTV today and promised there will be much more in store for her as Gossip Girl continues. Here are some excerpts from the interview, with a link to the full story on Buddy …
Q: Maybe to catch people up on the show a bit, since it was on hiatus for a while, can you talk about what your character is like?
Jessica Szohr: I play a girl, Vanessa Abrams, from Brooklyn, who is Dan Humphrey’s (Penn Badgley) childhood best friend. And she moved away with her parents to Vermont and comes back and confessed her love to Dan Humphrey, and realizes that he is on a whole other page from when she left New York. And she came back and is working on a documentary, and has a job at this little cafe in Brooklyn. She doesn’t really understand or get the whole world of these Upper East Sider kids.
Dan (Penn Badgley) and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr): Old friends.
Q: Are you personally like Vanessa at all? Do you identify with her?
Jessica Szohr: I think out of all the characters on the show, personally, I could relate to Vanessa the most. I come from Wisconsin, so living in New York, and especially on the Upper East Side, is very different from where I grew up. Mostly, personally, I could relate to Vanessa, which is great because that’s who I’m playing.

Welcome back to the Gossip Girl Insider Round Table!
While Gossip Girl fans gather in the forum to discuss their favorite characters and story lines, our staff members get together and analyze the burning questions and best moments from the latest Gossip Girl episode.
Our topics from “Desperately Seeking Serena” include newcomers Georgina and Asher, missing regulars Lily and Eric, …
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Asher: Really nice or really fake?
DANdy: I’m guessing he’s a perfectly nice guy. He and Jenny will date for the next year or so with no complications whatsoever.
LovelyLively: Once again, the Gossip Girl spoilers I’ve read make me question whether this is going to work before I even give it a chance. But there’s something I don’t trust about Asher.
MisterMeester: Not sure about his personality, but his name sounds fake to me. Asher? Why do these trust fund brats always have such yuppie-ish names? $10 says Jenny develops a crush on Hunter Southworth next.
2. Who did you miss more in the episode: Bart Bass, Lily or Eric?
DANdy: Lily. But I assume she was off filming MILF Island 2. Can’t blame her for that.
LovelyLively: In a shocking move I’m taking Bart. I really enjoy watching him get flustered at Chuck’s antics.
MisterMeester: All of you ladies attracted to rich, older guys probably missed Bart. The guys surely missed Lily or Eric the most.
3. What is Serena van der Woodsen hiding?
LovelyLively: That she can do a great Southern accent, apparently. If Dan ever found out about that, their entire relationship might change! But seriously, folks. I have no idea. But it sounds really, really shady.
MisterMeester: Her sanity? Why won’t Serena at least tell Dan that Georgina exists? Having Chuck Bass cover for her? That, and her being a bad liar, guarantees Dan’s suspicions that something is amiss.
DANdy: We already know Serena van der Woodsen used to drink a lot, and Dan wasn’t exactly her first romp in the hay (maybe not even in an art gallery). I’m gonna say Serena once acted as the lookout when Georgina swiped a pack of gum from 7-Eleven.
4. What are Sarah’s intentions with Dan?
MisterMeester: Who knows, we barely saw anything of her. Side note: Sarah looks a lot like Georgina to me.
DANdy: Perhaps she just wants to take him on a EuroTrip.
LovelyLively: Despite a nice outward appearance, it seems to me that Sarah has murdered Georgina and worn her face as some sort of mask. I’d stay away, Dan.
Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg) is up to no good, while Nate (Chace Crawford) found romance with Vanessa (Jessica Szohr).
5. Nate and Vanessa: OMG, WTF, or ROFL!
MisterMeester: At first, I was kinda like ROFL, what the h3ll are you doing N8?? But Vanessa actually seemed sort of cool in this episode, and she brings out the best in him. I <3 them I think!!!!!1!11!!
DANdy: WTF. But not due to the pairing of these two characters. They actually seemed to have chemistry together. I’m more baffled by the fact that Nate showed more personality during one evening with Vanessa than he did during one year with Blair.
LovelyLively: OMG, so cute. I was skeptical at first, as I love Nate and Blair, but having re-watched the episode, I like Nanessa a lot more now.
