According to the Nielsen ratings, just 2.44 million viewers tuned in to “The Blair Bitch Project” (the return of Gossip Girl) - only slightly better than its last original episode, which aired January 9.
However, these Gossip Girl ratings did help The CW score its highest ratings ever in the Monday 8-9 p.m. time period among total adults ages 18-34 (1.9/6) and specifically women 18-34 (2.9/8).

What did taking down streams of new Gossip Girl episodes online do for the show’s audience? Apparently, not a lot. Hopefully, these ratings continue to grow. Tell your friends about Gossip Girl

Hm. Maybe if we could get people to watch this one minute ‘highlight reel’,
we’d get more people to tune in? http://www.236.com/news/2008/04/22/the_gossip_girl_premiere_in_1_6031.php

I think that more people would watch if they moved it back to wednesday night. monday’s at 8 are not convienent for a lot of people/ even people I know can’t watch it now cause of the time. I think they should either change it back or have it on 2 nights

I live in Canada and lucky for me, we have the CW coming in from New York. But most people don’t and Gosspi Girl has stopped playing on the Canadian channel - I know a lot of my friends were very dissapointed that they couldn’t watch it on Monday!

I think it was dumb to take the show offline. Wasn’t the
whole point of that 3 month writers strike to pay writers
for their material being viewed online? Kinda defeats the
purpose.

The move to Monday is a bad thing. I for one have other shows on Monday, that have been on for a lot longer than Gossip Girl. Sorry, but I’m not willing to give up How I Met Your Mother and Bones.

I think that Monday is a really bad time to have the show air. If it moved to Wednesday then I think more people would watch it. I would be really sad to see this show go off the air completley and I would be really suprised considering the fact that their has been so much media coverage on the cast. but then again, maybe because the original fans only had a few episodes to get into it and then we had the writer’s strike, people lost interest after not seeing it continue for a while…
