Gossip Girl Season Finale: The Alternate Ending
Were you expecting a little more from last week's excellent, but mostly scandal-free, season finale of Gossip Girl?
Apparently, the original script had a completely different ending, according to Gossip Girl casting director Renee Godbout.
Below, Godbout described how Season 1 of Gossip Girl would have ended had they gone with the original script.
Serena & Dan
In the original script for the season finale, Serena (Blake Lively) does not catch Dan (Penn Badgley) hooking up with Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg), but Dan confesses it to Serena anyway.
Godbout thinks the way the events went down in the version that aired was a better, more dramatic choice - it allowed S to call her nemesis a "crazy, manipulative bitch."
More confrontation = more drama.
Blair & Chuck
The part of the "Much I Do About Nothing" script that was entirely rewritten involved Blair (Leighton Meester) and Chuck (Ed Westwick). They were supposed to rendezvous at the airport, not the helicopter pad.
Chuck gets stuck in traffic on his way to the airport because of a car accident en route. He sees Lily (Kelly Rutherford) at the scene, crying.
A stunned Chuck gets out of his limo only to find out that his father has been killed in the car accident.
Needless to say, Chuck doesn't make it to the airport on time. Thinking that Chuck is back to his womanizing ways, Blair instead decides to spend the summer with Carter Baizen - the dude who bilked Nate (Chace Crawford) out of thousands at that poker game.
Godbout isn't sure why the Gossip Girl powers that be decided to change the script. Perhaps they wanted to keep Bart Bass around to create more conflict between Rufus (Matthew Settle) and Lily.
And if this hadn't been changed, we wouldn't have had Lydia Hearst appear as Chuck's new object of desire. And Carter Baizen is lame.
What do you think of these alternate Gossip Girl endings? Would you have preferred them? Or did you like the chosen scenes?

i think the ending was great some of the alternate ending, if used would have made it better aswell!
i think killing bart off would have been bad! but mite have been good to keep the lilly and rufus thing goin on.
There were a lot of clifhangers in the ending which leavs people wanting to know what happens next!

they should have done the first blair and chuck ending.It would have beeen more drama if chuck's dad died n blair went wid chuck's nemisis

They seem like they don't understand Chuck well enough. In
the real finale he lets Blair know that he's running late
and has to catch a commercial flight. But in the original
he just didn't explain why he didn't show up and she just assumes
that he's a jerk again and somehow doesn't find out from ANYONE that
his father died?
LAME. I can see why they changed it.

i think they should have made bart on the edge of death
but
not dead
but used the same serena dan part as in the original
That would have made it an awesome cliffhanger and the
carter thing would be funny

Okay, with the whole Blair/Chuck thing, the
writers should have done the thing with Chuck and
the interior designer, then Blair should have done
whatever she was going to with Carter Baizen. That
would have been awesome!!!!

Okay like OMG. My mom is sorta friends with Josh Schartz, like she knows him, and I had togo to lunch with him, and found out alot of stuffabout season 2:-It starts of at summer in the hamptons-Serena and Nate hook up-Blair finds out about Chuck and Lily's interiordesigner and breaks up with him-Blair goes to the hamptons after leaving paris early and seesN and S and feels betrayed; she thinks Serena knows how she actually doeshave feelings for Nate, so she uses a plan of revenge.Dan goes to the hamptons for some reason Josh didn't tell me,and there's this party at the place where S is staying so Blairtexts Dan to come and starts dancing with him while S and Nare dancing and when S looks over, B leans in and Kisses D!!!S is stung and knows she loves D more than N. D pulls awayand explains how it doesn't mean anything and shes making Sjealous. D reluctantly plays along because he wants to get Sback for everything she's done to him- N and C hang as friends again- B forgets about the guy who works for Bart- S breaks up with N to try and get D back- S makes out with D but D just doesn't take her back- C trys to get B back but she won't listen to him.- B walks in on them (cheesy!) and gets pissed off at Sfor the last time. B yells at her how all S ever doesis take away the things she loves away from her (that's right, B says she loves D) and how the world stops to help whenS has a problem but when B has a problem people just manipulate her. How when B had a pregnany scare,S said she would help, but she didn't. Instead, Bhad to become Queen B again on her own, but Bhad to help S with Georgina, without so much as a thankyou.- B and D get together- S goes back to N but he's flirting with another girlso she takes a flight home. She feels horrible about B.- C trys to hook up with another girl but realizes he loves B, he made a mistake with the i.d. and wants her back-N and B decide to become friends and forgive each other.That's all in the first couple of episodes!!! I can't wait! I'llpost if I find out anyomore info.

I think Bart Bass dying would be so fabulous! You know why?
Because Serena and Dan are, at least, temporarily over, and
their parents together would force them to still see each other!
I think it would be interesting! But I love that Serena caught
Dan and Georgina together, that bitch deserved it.

Oh... And I don't believe in Aubrey. Schwartz would never tell
everything to a teenage girl because he knows her mother, no,
not at all. Plus, everything was so predictable and cheesy -
that's just not Gossip Girl material.

That plot seems so...Un-gossip-girly[not-aword-but-who-cares]....for starters..the cheese facter is through the roof! The symetery to start of the series 1 is un-canny and where the hell is vannessa..or jenny [not that I care but..y'know] and JS said himself the C/B story line is not being canned...Plus Serena wouldn't make the same mistake twice [sleepingwithnate]...and if I re-call corectly, even if you did know JS, I doubt he's telling you the truth...Writers love suprise, and I doubt it would jake him just pinky swear to unleash majour plot lines.

i never said the C/B staory was over. I said they were together at the beginning, but he came clean about Lydia Hearst and she breaks up with him. He trys to get him back but she won't buy it.

I don't know Josh Schwartz and I'm not claiming to,
but I saw a spoiler that says, season 2 does start
out in the hamptons. But Aubrey's lying about pretty
much everything else. It seemed like N and S were going to hook up after the season finale, I mean they WERE
flirting, but not so cheesy like that like what Aubrey said. Oh but on that same website it said S and B will
get in a HUGE fight either about N or something else, but no way does anyone except the writers know anything else. Quit lying Aub. No one believes you.

i think that the writers will kill bart bass at the end of season 2, that way chuck will seek confort in blair, and she will stand by his side but she will madly inlove with someone else.. what ya think??

I really believe in fairytales. I think everyone will get with people they love and they will live hapilly ever after lol
Well, some of them won't probably be with who they started with (f.e. i believe that Blair and Chuck could be a beautiful couple even though B started with N).
So yeah i guess.

yeah that aubrey girl is a total liar. "my mom is KINDA friends with him, like she knows him" that doesn't even make sense. and some how you were lucky enough to go to lunch with him and he told you everything that's gonna happen? i' m sorry but thats kinda retarded and weird. probably because it never happened, maybe you dreamed it. anyhoo, gossip girls rocks! toodles!

ohkay, im kinda glad they changed certain things about the ending but lily prob. wouldnt have cried if bart died. anyway chuck doesnt seem the one to stay with blair so the new girl habits and new character works. and that guy who cheated nate, he was kinda forgotten so im glad they took him out. and we need the lily, bart, rufus drama.
also what aubrey or whoever said, i really dont think serenas going to go hook up with nate thats just not possible with what happened. blair and dan might have something, but really serena and nate cant hook up. it just ruins the show.
