Quick Gossip Girl News and Spoilers
We've received inquiries as to whether or not Michelle Trachtenberg (as the conniving Georgina Sparks) has been added to the Gossip Girl cast full time. Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly has the scoop on that:
"Nope, and I'm kind of okay with that," he writes. "I think Blair Waldorf probably put it best when she told off Georgina in the season finale with the classic quote: 'Haven't you heard? I'm the crazy bitch around here.'"
Don't look for Georgina's return anytime soon.
Also, EW writes that Gossip Girl is about to start production on a Season Two episode shot almost entirely at Yale University.
In actuality, of course, it will be filmed at a remote corner of Manhattan's Central Park dressed up to look like Yale University.
The whole gang (or at least Blair and Serena, Dan and Nate) will be there for their first round of college interviews. No word on Chuck

I totally agree that Blair has the monopoly on bitchiness, but Georgina was a fun addition for awhile. What did you think of her character? I think Michelle was really well cast, which is important. I work for BBC America, and right now we're promoting a British show called "Skins" that's debuting over here August 17th at 9 p.m. It's awesome because it's not just well-written but the casting is just perfect. It deals with a lot of similar themes to Gossip Girl, and I highly recommend you check it out! You can learn more about the show and watch some clips and cast interviews at http://www.bbcamerica.com/skins.
I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds by posting this comment, I'm just trying to get the word out :) If you have any questions or comments, feel free to get in touch!

Leah, Yes skins does deal with similer products as gossip girl, and it is casted well, it's ten times worse than gossip girl in terms of how graphis the sex/drugs scandel is, it's set in a rough estate in britan and I highly doubt that the majority of america will get that, they wont know what a council estate is, and they wont get some of the terms we use like "sound" "mint" and "fit", on sevral occasions american people have asked me what I mean by those words, and those words are used alot on the show...sorry I think your kind of wsting your time!

i love michelle trachtenberg and i wish she stayed longer...oh well its still an awesome show. =]

It's definitely more graphic but it's toned down for American TV; I don't think anyone who watches Gossip Girl will be shocked by anything that's left in ;) And while the language is a bit different the slang is pretty easy to pick up on. I'm just hoping that by letting people know they'll look into it, maybe some will like it. I didn't mean to make it sound like it's the British version of Gossip Girl... It's different in a lot of ways. But it's also the same in a lot of ways, especially in the ways that make Gossip Girl so good. So hopefully I'm not wasting my time and a few people at least check it out :)

a Yale episode with most of the cast; looks like they're laying the ground work for season 3

Michelle Trachtenberg was pretty well cast, but the character of Georgina was extremely irritating and destroyed my favorite relationship. Also, I felt comfortable not knowing anything about Serena's "past" or what happened to her before she went to boarding school, I really didn't want to know, and then the show spent three or four episodes talking about it. The pilot began with Serena's return, so I didn't enjoy her whole backstory coming back to haunt her and ruining the good girl path she had been walking on.

I think that Georgina's character served her purpose and gave the series quite an exciting edge, but I can't help but be happy she's gone. I don't think that they could do much more with her character, who existed solely to destroy the lives of the other characters. The difference between her and Blair is that Blair has a sense of friendship and loyalty that is absent in Georgina. She's lost her power to induce scandal, as everyone knows her secret and there's little relatibility left in her character.

I agree with Sean in 100% I didn't want to know Serena's past either..Or rather I didn't want to learn it this way. They could have let us discover the things from Serena's past step by step, and not through that awful Georgina.Michelle was definitely well cast, but I really hate Georgina's character and all the episodes she appears in. Even now that I watch again the season 1 episodes I never watch those with Georgina. What's more - I know that's crazy - I happen to work with one girl from Italy who's name is Georgina and I honestly hate using her name as it reminds me of THAT Georgina. Uhh, I hope she won't come back in any of the future GG's seasons.

This cannot be true, Michelle Trachtenberg signed on as a full time cast member already. So this is not true!
