Nothing particularly new or groundbreaking here - just a summary of the Gossip Girl spoilers and story lines to come in January, courtesy of today's New York Post.

The Gossip Girl romance between Serena van der Woodsen and Aaron Rose will be cut short, according to the CW - one of many plot shakeups for 2009.

Aaron, the Brooklyn artist with a trust fund played by John Patrick Amedori, will not be returning from Argentina with Serena (Blake Lively) on January 5.

The character of Aaron Rose is getting axed for good after Gossip Girl producers and fans alike failed to warm up to his sketchy, too-smooth persona this fall.

But Serena will have enough on her plate after the passing of stepdad Bart Bass (Robert John Burke), and everyone will be trying to pick up the pieces - including Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington), Bart's younger brother and Chuck Bass' uncle.

Jack appears to help Chuck (Ed Westwick) with his grief after his father's death - although this reportedly may be a ruse as he tries to wrest control of Bass Industries.

Gossip Girl spoilers and rumors suggest that as per his father's will, Chuck will be named CEO of the billion-dollar real estate empire. We'll see how Jack reacts...

The December 8 episode of Gossip Girl, "O Brother, Where Bart Thou?" showed us that even an occasion like a funeral can feature eye-opening Gossip Girl fashion.

Below, our Gossip Girl fashion contributor, the fabulous Liza L., belatedly breaks down the episode, telling us where we can get some of its amazing attire ...

At Bart Bass' funeral, the Gossip Girl characters proved that you still can look magnificent, sexy and controversial in such a boring color as black.

Jenny Humphrey accessorizes her outfit with a pair of Be&D Peeptoe Slingbacks ($695, here) and a Bodhi safety clutch bag ($748, here).

Serena van der Woodsen showed off her stunning collection of coats and jackets: the beige one is simply a "Trench Coat" ($1,295 here). The coat she wore to Bart's funeral was an "Evening Coat" ($1,199, here), with a pair of Sigerson Morrison pumps ($199, on sale here) and a Chanel Lambskin Classic Flap Bag with glass stone and Rhodold Embroidery (from the Pre-Fall 2008 collection). The third jacket Serena wears is a Rag & Bone Hussar Jacket ($580, here), which she accessorized with a Chanel Caviar Flap-bag.

As for the incomparable Blair Waldorf, looked as amazing as always throughout this great episode, especially towards the end, when she dazzled in a 3.1 Philip Lim dress (Fall 2008, the Constellation collection – very similar one here).

Blair's dress is gorgeous ... even when sitting next to Aaron Rose at the wedding.

Chuck teams up with an unlikely ally in his war with Jack (guest star Desmond Harrington) over Bass Industries, while Nate and Vanessa spend a romantic night at the opera.

Three more celebs have been added to the star-studded list of presenters for next month's 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards - Gossip Girl star Blake Lively among them!

The 21-year-old actress, The Dark Knight star Aaron Eckhart and newly minted CSI lead Laurence Fishburne will all hand out awards at the ceremony in January.

Our own Blake Lively joins an array of big- and small-screen actresses and actors like Drew Barrymore, Jake Gyllenhaal, The Mentalist's Simon Baker, Salma Hayek and Jennifer Lopez, who had already been announced. Funnymen Sacha Baron Cohen, Ricky Gervais and Seth Rogen will also be on hand, as will new mom Amy Poehler.

Here's a funny anecdote about how of our beloved stars.

British actor Ed Westwick, fast emerging as fans' favorite Gossip Girl cast member, admits he was tongue-tied when he ran into soccer legend David Beckham in a bathroom.

The 21 year-old tells the U.K. magazine Reveal that he met the former Manchester United football star at a party in New York, one "that was so grand David Bowie was sitting at the next table and shook hands with George Clooney."

"I went to the toilet and there was David Beckham. I couldn't say anything, I just ran out. A friend tried to persuade me to say, 'Hello,' but I couldn't do it. It was ridiculous."

Ed, who watched Beckham long before he became famous as Chuck Bass, added that "had a Beckham shirt when I was a kid ... he was the one I watched growing up."

Westwick admis that if the same thing happened again - well, the same thing would happen again. "I just can't go up to him. I can't do it," he says.

Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen (Jenny Humphrey) graces the cover, and is featured all over the inside, of the January issue of CosmoGirl Prom.

The 15-year-old actress, model and Gossip Girl troublemaker dished to the magazine about her memorable prom experience: “Most of my friends were seniors and they were like, ‘You sit at our table every day, so you have to come to our prom.’ ... It’s fun to say our prom was on Friday the 13th. I’ll never forget the date!”

"... Everyone else took off their shoes as soon as they got there, but I kept my feet clean. I never get into the vanity of that type of thing. It’s with my friends. If I’m uncomfortable, then I’m not even in my own skin. You can look good and still be comfortable.”

As for her advice to her much-maligned Gossip Girl alter ego, Little J, Taylor Momsen says, “Go [to the prom]! I don’t live a traditional life, so I’m glad I went. It’s an important life stepping stone that everyone should experience.”

Regardless, the pictures - and what we've heard about the episode - are great so far. The episode (the 15th of Season 2) centers around the reading of Bart’s will, in which Chuck, Bart’s brother Jack, and Lily learn the fate of Bart Bass' empire.

Rufus and Lily’s relationship, meanwhile, is strained as Rufus seeks details about the child he never knew he had, and when Dan uncovers Rufus and Lily's secret, he must decide what to do with this revelation and who to share it with.
