While still unconfirmed by the network itself, a planned Rufus and Lily spinoff - featuring younger versions of the star-crossed lovers - is supposedly being planned.
According to reports, the network will lay the groundwork for the new show beginning with a flashback sequence in an upcoming Gossip Girl episode in early 2009.
Rufus and Lily (Matthew Settle and Kelly Rutherford) certainly have great chemistry, and the idea of no original cast members leaving Gossip Girl is also appealing.
But would you watch a spinoff featuring younger versions of these characters? Would they be enough to sustain a hit series, or should the producers scrap the idea? Tell us what you think of the proposed spin-off in the informal survey below ...

No that's too much. A jenny spin-off is nice although i don't want to see jenny leave either so yeah. I don't want to see a younger version of lily and rufus because they could just show that in the show it's too weak to become a good series. If it's all about them it'll be quite boring. and Frankly not all that interesting.

if they replace the characters the show wont have a flow to it and i hate it when they replace actors

as long as the spin off doesnt take any of Gossip girl characters away then i am ok with it

As much as I love Rufus and Lily, a spin-off series about them whne they were younger would probably be a horrible idea.

If there was a spinoff with Lily and Rufus, I would probably watch it. I don't see it going anywhere though.

I would be OK with it. as long as it doesn't take anyone from the original away. it would be kinda nice to see a younger version of lily and compare it to Serena.

yes yes thats perfect and we wont loos any cast members of gossip girl which is very important and the most important is that chuck and blair get together forever i do mean when in years from now gossip girls series finale chuck and blair better be together getting married or already married. please please please.
