Producers Casting Gossip Girl Spinoff Roles
The Gossip Girl spinoff is gearing up.
The show will be launched as an episode of the original series in episode 24, when we will travel to Los Angeles for a look back at the life of Lily Rhodes (Kelly Rutherford) when she was a lost young soul slumming around the Valley.
According to sources, the spinoff-setup episode of Gossip Girl shoots in Los Angeles in mid-March, meaning there are just two short months to cast these roles:
Lily, who is being touted as a teenage version of the Lily van der Woodsen we all know and love. Gorgeous and privileged, Lily has a bit of a rebellious streak that doesn't sit well with her parents. When she's kicked out of her prestigious boarding school, Lily is forced to relocate to her older sister's home in the Valley!
Owen, a 19-year-old hottie from the wrong side of the tracks. Possible love interest for Lily perhaps? What will Rufus think?!
Carol Rhodes, Lily's adorable big sister, is a free-spirited actress waiting for her big break! She's in her early 20s and always seems to be making bad decisions - the wrong men, the wrong career choices... you name it! Her screwups will definitely add a fun, comic element to the show, according to the producers.
Lily's dad, Rick Rhodes, is a handsome and charming music executive always looking for the next big thing. By the looks of it, Rick will have no trouble fitting in on the West Coast: Hot young girlfriend? Check. Supertanned and toned? Check!
There's even going to be a young version of Cece, Lily's mom, who we're already familiar with. Little has changed from the version of Cece we know from Gossip Girl - the same overly critical, stuffy and cold New Yorker, just younger.

What I've been wondering is, if they're doing a spin off, does this mean an end for Gossip Girl? Or am I just over thinking things..?

Someone unknown that can rock some killer 80's hair...soooo excited :)
Also lets get some diversity on the show...maybe Lily befriends a Latina at her new public school.

Why are they making a spinoff off of gossip girl? Gossip Girl is perfect and amazing the way it is right now! It wont be as amazing as the original one. Like how 90210 isnt as good as Beverly Hills 90210

They are so good at finding actors that look alike AND play their characters well.

They need to bring in someone unkown. That will make herself big off the series. LA needs a new "It" girl. I'd be perfect for it.

Ok so what year is this spinoff show supposed to be taking place in??? like the 80's or 70's...im excited to see the fashion style the actors are going to wear..cause if its Lilly as a teen they cant be dress like the characters do on Gossip Girl
