Kelly Rutherford plays Lily van der Woodsen as we know her, but who should star as young Lily in the Gossip Girl spinoff set in Los Angeles in the late '80s?
Fortunately, no current cast members will be involved, making the spinoff completely separate. We thought up some potential candidates for the lead role:
- Maggie Grace of Lost fame. Think about her paired alongside Ian Somerhalder (who played her stepbrother on Lost) as young Rufus!
- Adrianne Palicki of Friday Night Lights. She's great as Texas bad girl Tyra on that show, but could play the glamorous type as well.
- Country star Taylor Swift. Tall, pretty, blonde and definitely into music.
- Former Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari. The ultimate California girl!
- Candace Crawford, a former Miss Missouri - and the sister of Chace!

I don't really know but Maggie Grace is not that bad. I liked her on Lost.

oh yeah, lets get somebody thats retarded and got famous on "reality tv" to play Lily. I agree with luvssweetgg, i dont like any of these people. they dont look anything like lily and some of them are kind of scary looking

None of these girls really remind me of Lily VDW...But I have to comment on Candace Crawford though...Are they all in this family so gorgeous looking?Do they have another single hot bro for me?

Oh, I like the Maggie Grace suggestion. I think she could be great. I don't really care for the other suggestions. Taylor Swift is too creepy looking - definitely a NO. I think they should cast more relative-unknowns. Better yet, don't bother with the spinoff at all.

I REALLY DON'T THINK ANY OF THESE GIRLS COULD PLAY A YOUNGER LILY AND I'M SURE THEY'LL CAST A UNKNOWN. ONE SUGGESTION COULD BE TERESA PALMER, SHE'S AN UP AND COMING ACTRESS FROM AUSTRAILA. HERE'S THE LINK IF YOU WANT TO SEE A PIC OF HER, I THINK SHE HAS THAT LILY QUALITY.

Oh, Kirsten Bell would be perfect! Then it could turn out that Lily is really Gossip Girl! Or Lily's sister (who I never knew she had) since some of GG's posts have hurt Lily and the kids.
The way these storylines are going lately...it would fit ;)
