As we reported yesterday, Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) is getting a new love interest - and one that doesn't even share a half sibling with her.
Now, E! Online has revealed the actor who will play the role.
Armie Hammer - who has also been cast as the Devil's son, Morgan, on Reaper - will join Gossip Girl at the end of the season to play Serena's new beau.
The CW confirmed Hammer's casting yesterday afternoon.
The preliminary details on his steamy affair with Serena are as follows: Gabriel Serrano is a European socialite, a man unlike any Serena has dated before.
Gabriel will actually be dating Serena's socialite pal, Poppy Lifton (Tamara Feldman), before he moves on to her. Sounds like a scandalous love triangle worthy of the Upper East Side - and his character's drama doesn't stop there.
Armie Hammer will appear on three episodes toward the end of Season Two as a part of the Anne Hathaway-esque story line. Hathaway's Italian businessman beau was arrested and jailed for racketeering and fraud last year ...

This guy is a hottie! much more better looking than Aaron! BUT...only 3 episodes? how are they going to tell this story squeezed into only 3 episodes? Sounds like another let down storyline to me..

I agree that 3 episodes will definetly not be enough. Maybe it won't be concluded until the fall? I don't think so though. ;-(

He seems goodlooking, even if a bit stiff. Three episodes? I think we are going to have the life threatening experience for Serena in the last episode then. Or maybe we are going to have him and Nate's cousin together in some episodes, and no guest star for the finale? Does it mean no more Serena and Blair interaction? I quite like when the two are together! But I suppose we'll have two different story lines from now on:
1) Nate Blair Cousins eventually Chuck (+ Dorota)
2) Serena Poppy Gabriel eventually Dan
That's off course if Chuck and Dan get rid of the awful duo Carr/Nanny...
and Jenny? And Rufus and Lily? Too many things seem to have to happen in only 6 episodes, I hope GG will not become a soap opera...

i dont think he will be serena's bf. only a love interest, like dating stage but unlucky for serena that when he got caught, he is with her. so a lot of people is searching for him therefore, serena is involves in all his gang action altho she dont know about it. plus he and serena will be in page 6~

I agree e, definitely not a BF, he's staying only for 3 episodes and I suppose at least for one he's going to be Poppy's BF. Plus he's supposed to be a criminal, so I doubt he will return in season 3 (one never knows with Josh though...)

and i hope Georgie will tell Serena that she and Dan didnt do anything the last time. and what Dan told her about Serena.
