All he can muster up is a show about elite rich teens that don’t really have parents. It’s boring, culturally disgusting. I think they problem with this show is that it moves to fast. Slow down, Josh! Why are you rushing to cram four or five storylines into three episodes? Relax. Breathe and give the show space. It’s busy; there are too many guest stars, too many little sub-storylines and not enough big ones. The show needs a new pace. It seems like every character on the show has been together already. Characters are going to have to start turning gay or lesbian because it’s going to get boring soon. The show is ridiculous but in a bad way. Nip/tuck is a show that has outrageous storylines, graphic surgery scenes, obscene explicit sex scenes; its ridiculous in a goody way. Gossip girl isn’t. It’s boring and stupid. How much better would it has been if they stuck to the books? The books gave enough material for a trilogy of movies, not for a television show. The show has no redeeming qualities. It’s confusing, and cliché. So much happens in one episode but yet, why is it so boring? (Because we have seen it before from The O.C, One Tree Hill, Beverly Hills 90210…)Please, please, please, cancel this show. In my opinion, I don’t think gossip girl can be saved. Not on the CW anyways. The show would have done SO MUCH BETTER if it was on a cable network like HBO, FX, or, AE. On cable they can be more vulgar, more graphic, which draws in viewers. Gossip girl is going down, I give it two more seasons MAX! There is only so much you can do with teens.

I really like what people have been saying about the addition of travelling to the show, it would be nice to see GG set in other locations, the Hamptons scenes were great.

Also, where'd Nate go?!?? WTF. I mean, I love Chuck, but jeez isn't Nate supposed to be THE man of the UES.
And gosh, I could not agree with you more about the whole Vanessa thing. The only reason she was interesting to begin with was because she was this intense, artist, bald, out there girl, but they've taken all that away and now she's just this girl that is TRYING to be a UES girl, but failing miserably.
and YES! traveling!
oh and I gotta agree about adding more high school plots, but with a touch of UES in it.
serena needs to get over it and be a bitch. she was an awesome character in the beginning. now as she spirals down into this boring, exhausted-looking, trying to be a good girl, wtf character, she doesnt seem much of an IT girl at all. plus, omfg, dan and serena are getting so annoying; they used to be slightly cute. now its just like, quit it already. some additional thoughts.
Is anyone else soo not enjoying the nanny story? Or the whole eyes wide shut premise? I remember reading an excerpt from an interview with Jessica S and she raved about how raunchy and out there it was... umm one word- no. it isn´t Jess, obviously that was just you plugging your scenes, seeing as you have such limited screen time and yet still too much in my opinion.
Chuck- Ive already discussed his character at length but really even though I am a massive chair fan, did nobody else flinch when he said ´last night was the greatest night of my life´ or ´ she was the beautiful woman i had ever seen.´ Blair much anyone?? Really what are the writers doing to the best ship on TV at the moment? Please don´t ruin it!
School normality- Last season they revised, sat SATS, hung out on the steps and bitched in the courtyards. This season its all secret sex parties, gentleman´s clubs and the opera. These are still kids, however rich they may be and I want to see them doing normal high school stuff, still in keeping with the luxurious UES ways. However I think GG writers are taking that into consideration with the upcoming school play, graduation and prom. Please God, don´t let them mess it up, all three of these are fantastic forums for interaction and drama and springboards for some great plot development!
Vanessa- Leighton Fan, I´m with you on the V front. Really this girl is supposed to be an out there, kooky, slightly off beat Brooklyn babe and instead she is just well annoying. To put it mildly. Literally her only ambition in life seems to be to hang on Nate´s every word and try and act like an UES girlfriend. Come on V give us some kooky and crazy!
Blair´s family- I love seeing Dorota, now give me more Elenor, Cyrus, Roman and Harold. And soon.
Finish storylines- Im glad one of the eps is called loose ends cos boy they have some explaining to do. And above all resolve the Jack and Blair issue for once. Really to give out that misleading dialogue in the promo ´ Blair wouldn´t touch you.. You should ask her about it.´ and then not follow through, that was truly mean GG writers, mean!
Serena- please quit with your whiter than white and holier than thou act. You were the bad girl of UES, you sorta killed a guy and now you erm enjoy writing Shakespeare essays and being the teacher´s pet. Serena, you do not need to be the moral compass of the show, little Brooklyn Boy already got given that as his role (although with Carr gate its gone a little askew!
just my two cents tis all. please comment, criticise or add if you want!

OH i totally think V shoudl shave her head and wear more black, that is what cecily said she would like her to do anyway! she said that although jessica szhor was great, she was not given good enough storylines or direction! the odd thing is, N is theee major guy charceter in the books yet CHuck Bass has totally taken over the show. Dont get me wrong I would far far rather have the delectable Mr Bass as the focus of the show´s attention but at the same time poor N needds something to boost his cred a little

i think you guys have said everything that needs to be said.
however, i just wanted to say that I'm not really bothered with the situation CHAIR is in right now because if they got together NOW then what happens after that? where's all the anticipation gonna be? I am a HUGE CHAIR fan, but I don't mind that they have blair and chuck testing the waters for now, as long as they dont let go of the fact that chuck and blair IS ENDGAME...i mean pssh, even dorota agrees!
Anastasia53 Says: February 19th, 2009 2:21 AM
I agree with you guys SO much!
Serena, stop being a saint; we get the point already. She's becoming very dull. BE A BITCH, PLOT WITH B! Chuck and Nate need more scenes together. Chuck needs to be 17 again. Nate needs new storylines. Dan and Serena are annoying me to no end and are BORING me to no end. Jenny needs a new haircut. Vanessa...well...shave your head and film something, idk. The Non-Judging Breakfast Club needs to reunite as well.
I mean, I love Gossip Girl and watch it ALL THE TIME, but they need some major tune-ups.
Yes! Someone else noticed that about Serena. She seems to be such a goody-goody. Now, I'm for her cleaning up her act, but the writers have taken it too far. And because of that Blair and Serena are seen at opposite ends of a spectrum, but really they should be on the same side. I mean, they're supposed to be as close as sisters. I want to see them take some bitches down, together. Maybe the writers are saving an idea like that for the future, but Serena seems to get duller with each episode. She always wants to do the right thing, we get it she wants to be a good girl, but I don't think someone can go to complete party animal to saint like she did.

1) dan and serena need to be fixed. no more of this drama between them 24/7...make them happy and cute like in s1. i love them and will always be a fan, but enough with the one and off again stuff. be together. 2) nate does need a little spicing up. i don't entirely hate him with vanessa, but a new sotryline would be interesting. 3) have more friendship scenes. 4) break up rufus and lilly. ugh. they bug me. 5) let chuck and blair finally have something. they're being dumb just like dan and serena. if you love each other, be together. stop playing games.

LEIGHTONFAN, I didn't mean to dis season 2 at all, I just meant that so far it hasn't lived up to season 1 in my opinion and I am sure that I am not the only person who feels that season 2 could be SO much better. Don't get me wrong I absolutly love GG and I watch it religously, and some of the acting has been fantastic, but when all six+ seasons are said and done I think everyone would agree that season 2 could have been better, it was good, up could be better.

These writers have to do something cuz there is 7 episodes left this season then next season is going to be D,S,C,B,N,and V in the real world/college while J and E are in 11th grade. DO SOMETHING!
T Says: February 18th, 2009 9:06 PM
There is no need to get rid of people. It isnt fair to the actors. The writers suck. Give EVERYONE storylines. Also STOP screwing up the couples Josh. I adore CB, DS, and NV but they are beyond ruined Friendship would be great like DV, EJ, and the NJBC eventhough I cant see how that will work after Nate is left all alone from this upcoming CBN + V thing. Make some more new friendships also like BV, CV, DB, or CJ. What happened to the CV and the bar storyline?! It could be great as in giving Vanessa something to do during college and great for Chucks growth on Bass Industries. Nate can get a storyline that doesnt revolve around girl. What happened to being into sports?! Jenny can work for Eleanor again while keeping up her grades at school to please Rufus. I am not sure what kinda storylines to give D, B, and S cuz they seem fine to me right now.
KristaRay Says: February 18th, 2009 8:29 PM
I TOTALLY agree with all of this. well most of it, but you get the point.
Dan and Serena are getting SO boring. Someone fix them. Make S the IT GIRL she's supposed to be.
Chuck needs to be 17 again. He needs to be the sleazy, entertaining bad guy we all loved. Not this desperate 50 year-old. Get him some younger clothes, let him play bball with Nate and his teenager buddies or something.
What happened to Nate?! In the flashbacks, he seemed so awesome! Hanging out with B and S and everything. Also, where's the C&N bromance?!
Jenny needs a new haircut and makeup. Someone please make Vanessa's character interesting. Put in some realistic high school plots. Bring back the Non-judging breakfast club love.
Oh and another thing, IMHO, they should try giving Nate and Serena an actual chance. I mean, Nate, Serena and Blair (even Chuck) are supposed to share this realllly long history and Nate and Serena are supposed to have this unrequited love ever since pre-k or something. But the show hasnt really explored that. Yet. For some reason, they just decided to get Serena some Brooklyn boy and Nate has been with every girl in the show. Whatev.
Cassie Says: February 18th, 2009 8:08 PM
Serena - needs to leave Dan. I am done with the on again off again BS. They either stay together or NOT, and i say the latter. Another thing, I want bitchy Serena, who plots with Blair, goes to parties and actually has fun and doesn't go chasing after some Brooklyn boy, who's not even worth it. Blair - well, I understand that the writers are trying to draw out the whole CHAIR thing because come on, let's face it, they are endgame. Anyways, I just want more interactions with them, but I DONT want them going the evil Dan/Serena path; keeping them apart for now is alright with me. Also, where'd Cyrus go? He was pretty dangg cool, and Dorota IS gossip girl. duh. lol. Nate - whatever happened to Nate being the golden boy of the UES??? I totally agree with you guys; I thought he was supposed to be kinda like the male counterpart of Serena and Blair. Come on, give him some exciting storylines. Oh and in the "official gg blog in the official gg site" it says that Nate is the soccer(?) team captain or something; how about they add some sports in, yes? That IS part of high school right? jeez. give him some drug addiction or something. idk. FIX HIM! and no we can't kick nate out! Chace is too hot XP Chuck - dear old bass, i DO love his character, but for chrissake he's 17 (or 18)! I don't care if he has the biggest share of a multi-billion dollar corp. i want him back in school and setting things straight! i want him hitting on girls in hallways, scowling at Dan and all his yucky brooklyn self, sabotaging some school project, etc. Dan - I am actually somewhat happy that he's getting a "bad guy" plot. i mean jeez his self-righteous self was like BORING. and SO hypocritical. then again i dont care much for his character. to me, he's a minor one. he can be there to provide some witty comment or whatever. Jenny - is not acting 15 at all! jeez. and fix her hair. Vanessa - yawn. boring. I think she would have been better off as that edgy, weird video making, bald girl. Everytime her and nate come up, i immediately run for the remote. Eric - needs more screen time. also, i want the van der bass family to have some family time. act like a mother lily! combining the van der basses and humphreys is a no-no. ew. Parties/Other General stuff - seriously where is all the substance abuse, the excess partying, the underage drinking, the stuff Season 1 GG used to have. Another big thing is the major lack of friendships. Where'd the Non-Judging Breakfast Club go? What happened to Chuck and Nate's awesome bromance?!
Oh and for the record, I still LOVE all their song choices.
Alright, I'm done ranting. Had to let the steam out.
Can´t you producer/writer guys put some good story lines together with the characters you have?!?! It´s ok that sometimes some other people from their families have to appear...but take it ease! That´s getting really boring!
leightonfan Says: February 18th, 2009 7:15 PM
DANI NO- s2 does not suck imo it may not be as good as s1 but there has been some amazing acting and scenes this season! Braziian GIrl you are so right about guest stars, i mean use jenny and eric more, give nate a decent storyline and bring back eleanor!

February 19th, 2009 2:21 AM
February 19th, 2009 12:31 AM

February 18th, 2009 9:48 PM
so...Dorota really should be GOSSIP GIRL!
i mean how amazing would that be????
and there are so many hints that she totally could be...and is it sad that she has become my new favorite character?
oh ya and btw!! where the hell is Elanor and Cyrus....AWKWARD...they got married and POOF!! INCONCEVABLE....only some of you will get that joke!!!
i agree with alot of what has been said but how can you not LOVE the show...we all wish that we could lives like this..so crazy!
love gossip girl!
February 18th, 2009 9:14 PM
These writers have to do something cuz there is 7 episodes left this season then next season is going to be D,S,C,B,N,and V in the real world/college while J and E are in 11th grade. DO SOMETHING!
February 18th, 2009 9:06 PM
February 18th, 2009 8:29 PM
Whatev.

Chace is too hot XP
Chuck - dear old bass, i DO love his character, but for chrissake he's 17 (or 18)!

ENOUGH WITH THE GUEST STAR APPEARANCES!!
Can´t you producer/writer guys put some good story lines together with the characters you have?!?!
It´s ok that sometimes some other people from their families have to appear...but take it ease!
That´s getting really boring!
February 18th, 2009 7:15 PM
DANI NO- s2 does not suck imo it may not be as good as s1 but there has been some amazing acting and scenes this season! Braziian GIrl you are so right about guest stars, i mean use jenny and eric more, give nate a decent storyline and bring back eleanor!
