As we know by now, Brittany Snow will star as a younger Lily van der Woodsen (formerly Lily Rhodes) in flashbacks on the May 11 episode of Gossip Girl.
The flashback sequences will set the stage for a Gossip Girl spinoff pilot, which will follow Lily's adventures in Los Angeles as a rebellious teenager.
If feedback is good, the new show will likely be picked up for the fall season.
Andrew McCarthy plays her father, Rick. Here's them on the set this week:
Will we like what we see of young Lily when we meet her in six weeks?
"We're taking some artistic liberties," says Snow. "Hopefully, the audience will see it as a portion of her life and not directly connected to who she is now."

ok I love Andrew McCarthy, so I am very psyched for him to be in the show! He needed to get back into acting.

I'm still upset that Josh is trying to multitask with all these new shows, when fans are having issues with the old ones. I'm not even slightly interested in seeing this spinoff.

Theres so much going on in gossip girl already and so having a spin off at this time would not only be confusing but damn well annoying!
I'm also upset that they're trying to multitask with all the new shows and spin offs. It's frustrating; it's like they're bored with gg so are trying to create something new!

Like ChuckBassLove said, I'm upset Josh is going to try to juggle shows when he's clearly not all that great at handling a single one. People are having issues with GG at the moment, so why he would try a spin off right now is absolutely beyond me.
Stick to GG until you decide it's done, Josh. And if you think it's already done after the second season, I won't be looking forward to the spin-off because it will just follow those same foot steps.
