The Gossip Girl spinoff may be a little East meets West, CW style.
As if exploring Lily van der Woodsen's roots via a Gossip Girl spin-off wasn't enough, Josh Schwartz may revisit an old TV family tree for his new pilot - namely, he might shake the branches of his previous teen drama, The OC.
Schwartz and co-creator Stephanie Savage are "toying with the idea" of having young Lily (to be played by American Dreams girl Brittany Snow) interact with teen versions of The OC's Kirsten Nichol and Jimmy Cooper, EW reports.
Tate Donovan and Kelly Rowan as The OC's Jimmy and Kirsten.
Does that mean Serena van der Woodsen and Marisa Cooper (Mischa Barton's old character) may have had (bitchy little) play dates with each other at some point?
Nothing is official yet, as the Gossip Girl spinoff is still at the pilot stage, but what do you think of this idea? Too far-fetched, or bicoastal genius? Who would you cast as young versions of The OC's elders? Any thoughts?

I actually think that would be really fun and cool to see!!!! its a good idea and I think it could be really interesting!!...but I forgot were Kirsten and Jimmy from New York?

Haha that would be so funny! I love the OC and Gossip Girl and seeing them both together would be great! Though I think they should be careful not to put Jimmy or Kirsten out of character

Arghhhh my eyes are bleeding!
We've got Gossip Girl, please don't make a spin off because it just won't be as good.
I won't be watching this "spin-off" and many others will probably agree.
I'm also a little confused, will this be a reality tv show???
