tss--you're so right about the whole Seder thing relating to the one in the OC!! I actually just watched that OC episode the other day and totally realized the connection as well.

As far as Gabriel goes...BLEH!! He is super boring. The only reason I don't completely detest him is because he's bringing Chuck and Blair together again [thank God!!] I just don't understand Serena's choice in men sometimes...first Aaron, who was like the worst choice ever, and now this guy. How does she go from Nate and Dan to these guys, seriously?! lol

    1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from the episode?

I think I'll give this week to Little J. I'm glad that she actually stood up to Chuck and I'm glad Chuck apoligized to her for what happened way back in the pilot!

    2. In honor of Josh Schwartz and two-thirds of our panel, what was the best Jewish humor-related part of the episode?

My mom makes a big deal of trying other religions besides our own, so she decided to have a seder this year a couple of days before Easter and I think it's funny how Eleanor kept saying, "Oh, it's fine, it's not like we'll be eating anytime soon," because that how it is, and it is excruciating trying to sit through all the prayers.

    3. Should Nate go to Yale or Columbia?

Columbia, it shows that he does have some skill and actually has the will to try to get something without anybody to pull strings for him. He got in like the common-man.

    4. Strangest plot hole: Jenny having her Monopoly date at the van der Woodsen's and not in Brooklyn, Nate staying at the rehearsal dinner after his kiss-off toast, or Serena actually thinking she's married?

I think Nate gets this one. If I had just dissed my family with no provocation I'd be totally embaressed and would probably not want to go to any family gathering again (they're already a blow). And plus my family would probably disown me before I disowned them.

    5. Gabriel: Intriguing or boring?

So, so, sooo BORING! Get him off the show. Well maybe next week his character will get a little better but for now he's a boring metrosexual (doesn't that sound kind of contradicting?).

BONUS QUESTION: Has Blair really changed - and is being with Nate stifling the feisty, confident B we know and love?

I hate Blair with Nate. They're like both all different. Blair gets really paranoid and needy and annoying and Nate just gets all effed up and IT SUCKS!! I want Blair to be fiesty and confident. She definatly needs to make a faster come back than Britney.

  3. maeby Says:

Favorite Quote: Simply because it was downright cheesy and ridiculous - "Baruch Atah ay Dios mio! This Passover is going to get its very own Spanish inquisition" - GG

Best Jewish Humor: I actually thought the whole thing was a bit sacreligious. Passover is quite important to the Jewish faith and I thought all the schtick was cavalier and kind of appalling. What up Schwartz?

Nate - Yale or Columbia?: I truly don't care. The premise that Nate got into Columbia on his own merit is hilarious, because I think Nate is as dumb as a box of rocks, and Columbia's no community college. I don't imagine Granddaddy is going to be pulling any more strings for him at Yale after that whiny outburst at the rehearsal dinner, though, so... Columbia it is.

Biggest Plot Hole: Hands down, Jenny's lame-ass Monopoly date at the VDW's. Obviously a set-up to get Chuck and Jenny in the same room and address the (ahem) attempted rape from Season 1. Finally. That's been bothering me for a long, LONG time. I love me some Chuck Bass, but that was one thing I could never swallow (no pun intended) about his 180 to main character status... the guy sexually assaulted both Jenny AND Serena! ADDRESS IT, THANKSVERYMUCH.

Gabriel: Yikes, what a dud. Plus, he has crazy vampire teeth. Any Serena storylines bore me to tears anyway.

    Has Blair Changed?
Ah Blair. Ok, Blair is my absolute favorite character on Gossip Girl, but right now, I absolutely loathe her. She's pathetic and submissive, snivelling about with Nate the Great (yawn), and begging for table scraps. This is NOT Blair, and hopefully, by the end of the season, we will see her return to greatness (and bitchiness, because face it, folks, it's what she does best). Being with Nate, Blair turns into what she *thinks* she should be. With Chuck, Blair lets herself be who she really is, and he loves her all the more for it. PS: I think Chuck is about to launch a full-on battle for Blair. Did anyone else notice that after his apology to Jenny, he pushed away his half-full glass of booze in a completely non-Chuck-like fashion? Is Bass gonna sober up? And will it be to win the hand of a one Miss Waldorf? Sure hope so.

All that said, I HATED this episode. I thought the acting was atrocious, with the exception of Momsen and Crawford (surprisingly, because I despise both of their characters). Meester was horrific, and I hate to say that because I absolutely adore her. Westwick - MEH, and God knows I love me some Westwick. Badgely and Lively - kind of generic and boring, as per usual. I'm thoroughly fed up with these dangling storylines, and I personally think the writing is getting sloppy. I love this show so very much, and I just want it to return to its former, early Season 2 glory.

  4. Ashy Says:

    1. Fave quote:
Chuck to Jenny - "I never apologized for what happened last year. I deeply regret my actions of that night. If you ever do move in here, I'll make sure I'm not around."
so touching... and so sweet...it was a very good dialogue and it was a very touching scene.

    2. Best Jewish related humour in the episode:
    the "Schmutz happens" apron. lol

    3. Yale or Columbia:
Columbia, definitely, Yale's too good for nate, and he should suffer for turning down his grandpa's oh-so-good requests like that. not everyone gets perks like that, you know, take advantage of t, dodo-brain. and if you're too dumb to appreciate that, well, suffer, you idiot!

    4. Strangest plot hole:
have to say, nate, thats just plain stupid. are you TRYING to provoke maureen into strangling you?!!
serena is understandable, she was probably wishing for it to be true anyway, and can't say anything too bad for jenny, if it set the stage for her cutting dialogue to chuck, and his final (touching) apology. (she was probably trying to impress wes anyway).

    5. Gabriel:
intriguing after that last thing with poppy. i like that sweet/bad boy thing he's got going, but still don't like him much. i woudn't trust S within half a mile of this dude.

BONUS Q: hell yea, she's changing! i suppose its necessary for her character's growth, but i miss queen b. no one but basshole can give her the proper freedom of feistiness she deserves. grow fast B, and cum back soon!

i have to say, this episode was amazing. the whole seder thing they had going on, plus serena-dan awesome onscreen chemistry, plus blair's (regrettable) fall from queenliness, plus the chuck-jenny thing was completely COOL!!!!

  5. Kimmie Says:

Well, I am definitely glad Gossip Girl is back with all new episodes. It is about time.
The whole Serena and Gabriel married or not dilemma was kind of boring. Anything about Serena is boring actually.
I love the Eleanor and Cyrus Seder. It was hilarious. I love it when Eleanor was getting mad because she can’t eat and how the Seder was sooooooo long. I love it how Cyrus was getting irritated because everyone was interrupting the ceremony.
Chuck was kind of in and out. I hate the fact that he was not the center of attention but I love him when he was sad. So sexy!!! I just wanted to hug him and if Blair saw him, she would want to do a whole lot more.
Argh!!! The worst part of all in his episode was Nate and Blair. I hate Nate because the producers and writers keep bringing up issue of him and his family in which I don’t give a crap for. And I hate the fact that Blair is dating him now and that she is always with him.
This was a disappointing episode overall. I waited 3 weeks (plus sometimes longer) to see episode like this? I thought getting more viewers was the name of the game?
At least the promo for the next week has something to look forward to; Chuck and Blair. It looks rather interesting. I just want Chuck and Blair to get back together already, or at least have them talking or scheming together like they are appearing to do for the next episode. Yay!!!!
Nate better get a clue and bud the hell out because there are no places for him. He’s a failure at life. Nate needs to understand that Blair and Chuck are true love and his is just some pathetic jackass.
There are four episodes left for season 2. Please make it your best 4 episode ever. The way you can do that is start getting Blair and Chuck together!!!!!
