1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from the episode?
no real stand out quote for me last night but blair was in great form. i liked her interactions with georgina a lot particularly the bit about taking vengence out of the bible and only having enough left for a pamphlet. this line also made me laugh (re: nate) - "i'm just as flummoxed as you are. i got out at 53rd and made a run for it but he is faster than he looks." especially funny as nate just stood though totally unaffected by the comment!
2. How are you liking the Gabriel-Poppy financial caper story line?
i really like it! it is new drama and it brought georgina back and she is better than ever. i also like the dynamic of chuck, blair and nate trying to get serena out of trouble. i loved the scene at the end where they were all outside the police station working their different angles to help her out. i think they will make a great trio with chuck and blair together and all 3 as best friends and i think that is what blair was alluding to when she said they could figure it out, ALL OF THEM. i think she was addressing chuck's concern about his friendship with nate, knowing that would be a factor for him, and she was saying they would figure that dynamic out too.
3. More puzzling decision: Chuck letting go of Blair because he loves her, or Lily having Serena arrested to avoid drawing attention to the scheme?
the chuck thing is frustrating but not puzzling. we've all been told "if you love something, let it go" plus they have reinforced that chuck's character doesn't see himslef as worthy of love over and over and one moment in the bar with blair saying it's okay isn't going to change that. lily calling the cops on her daughter in front of a socialite hangout in order to avoid a scandel? i mean, just read that sentence again; how is that not the most backward non-sensical scheme ever? lily all the way.
4. Biggest stretch: Serena thinking Gabriel would simply return the money, Dan overhearing everything, or the increasingly strange Kelly Rutherford pregnancy-hiding outfits?
this week's attempts at hiding baby gucci or whatever tacky name that poor child will have were better than last week's so it is between dan and serena for me. the writers are really working the "dan as an opportunistic eavesdropper" plot device, i would like to think they can figure out a new way to reveal secrets between characters (and no, "i never" with vanessa doesn't count). that said, serena's whole "he may be a scamming con-artist but that doesn't mean the feelings weren't real" was dumb, even for her. actually, s, that is exactly what it means. that's why he's a con artist; he is a professional liar. most unbelievable? that chuck didn't see through the sincerity charade at the hotel. a couple bonus points that he wanted his p.i. to check out the story but he should have straight up called his bluff. i could smell the bullshit from my living room couch.
5. How will Chuck react to seeing Nate and Blair at the prom?
why with brooding stares and prom king puns of course. honestly, i think nate and blair may be their own undoing next episode.
BONUS QUESTION: Are you excited for the '80s Lily flashbacks?
the jury's out. obviously i am more excited to see the next chapter in the nate/blair/chuck saga and what happens with georgina but if the flashbacks weave into the serena story in an intersting way it could be cool. i will reserve judgement.

1. Not exactly a quote, but the scene with Chuck smelling(!) Georgina and giving a full review of her "status" (while Blair approved) was to die for!
2. Childish and unrealistic! That "Gabriel" guy is an awful actor, I turn my head away from tv every time he appears on it.
3. Lily's stupidity, although anticipated, is surely puzzling.
Chuck's letting Blair go free because he loves her but feels that he doesn't deserve her and he'll never make her happy - this in not puzzling at all, it was perfectly clarified by the scene itself.
4. Dan has turned out to be the biggest stretch of this show, imo.
5. A lot of spoilers on the prom night have revealed a lot of things, so we pretty much know that Chuck although hurt by seeing Blair and Nate together, he'll help her with the Prom Queen thing, just to see her happy.
Bonus: This episode would be such a waste, imo. A Bart Bass spin-off would sound a lot better and more interesting than a Lily one!

2.I think this scheme is just cruel, Serena may be blonde and so naive, but it's not fair that she get's to be taken advantage like that!I may not be a big fan of her but i respect her sincerity!

1. Serena: It just doesn't make any sense.
Blair: Feelings never do. They just get you all confused. Then they drive you around for hours until they drop you right back to where you started.
This exchange is truthful, yet funny at the same time. Serena still doesn't think anything makes sense, even though it was explained to her. Blair somehow makes this about her and Chuck. Add Nate's confusion at Blair's subtle Chuck comment and you have gold. He probably thought 'feelings' was some cabdriver and is planning to go have a talk with him sometimes soon.
2. This storyline is absolutely ridiculous, but I guess it solves the problem of Serena never doing anything. Maybe it would be better if Poppy's hair wasn't so dastardly... but that would be like taking away Gabriel's fake tan. How would we live with it? They just wouldn't be evil.
3. Lily. But only because she is contradicting herself. She's ruining her Serena's future by putting her in jail for something she didn't do which is supposed to keep Serena from ruining her future by getting involved in a scam that she wouldn't even be convicted for. Right. Typical Lily. But Chuck and Blair is something I know will eventually come to fruition because they just can't stay away from each other. It's inevitable, as he has said. For now, we can add this moment to our catalog of sad Chuck and Blair moments with amazing acting from the respective actors.
4. I've seen so many ways to cover up that bump that I'm not even remotely surprised by Lily's oddly large and cumbersome latest accessories. As for Dan, snooping is in his nature. Like father, like son. But Serena thinking her good looks and 'amazing connection' with Gabriel, as well as a fake pregnancy scam, will get him to return all of the scam money from his Ponzi scheme that he worked very hard on? I mean, even Serena isn't that lame.
5. Honestly, I think he will try to help make Blair queen. Then Nate and Blair will have a falling out and Blair will realize that Chuck helped her instead of ruining another of her society events a la her Cotillion. Which was surprisingly only last year? Time flies when Chuck and Blair fall in love.
BONUS: I'm less excited for that story than I am for the Chuck-Nate-Blair triangle that will ensue at the prom. I mean, the actor that portrays Rufus as a teenager is way too handsome to actually be him at that age. Seriously.
1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from the episode?
I'm stuck between two...
Serena: You brought Nate?
Blair: I'm just as flummoxed as you are. I got out at 53rd and made a run for it but he is faster than he looks.
and
Blair: If it's real, we'll figure it out, all of us. But if it's not, then please, Chuck, just let me go. (best GG scene in such a long time!)
2. How are you liking the Gabriel-Poppy financial caper story line?
Ugh...it's awful
3. More puzzling decision: Chuck letting go of Blair because he loves her, or Lily having Serena arrested to avoid drawing attention to the scheme?
I'm obviously not happy about Chuck letting Blair go, but I get it. Lily, on the other hand, made absolutely no sense.
4. Biggest stretch: Serena thinking Gabriel would simply return the money, Dan overhearing everything, or the increasingly strange Kelly Rutherford pregnancy-hiding outfits?
Serena believing that Gabriel would return the money. How the hell did she get into Brown being that stupid?!
I didn't mind Kelly Rutherford's outfits this episode and Dan overhearing everything wasn't that annoying.
5. How will Chuck react to seeing Nate and Blair at the prom?
I think seeing them together is what will make Chuck finally tell Blair he loves her.
BONUS QUESTION: Are you excited for the '80s Lily flashbacks?
No...I hate the whole concept

I agree with Maggie Grace or Emily van Camp as Lily Rhodes, although Grace is a little too old to be playing someone 16 or 17. As for Emily, she looks like she would be a perfect Lily since she looks innocent yet a trouble-maker. Her previous roles have also shown she can be sarcastic, which is the most important asset that Lily has.
Overall, though, I'm not too excited about Valley Girls, only because I don't know how good of a job they'll portray Lily and Rufus as teenagers. Or even how effective their storyline will be. Plus, it takes away completely from the whole Upper East Side charm.

As long as the prom is in 1980's fashion with Chuck as James Spader and Nate as Andrew McCarthy, I am happy...OH and get that idiot Georgina outta here.
1. Okay, can somebody get this psycho girl outta here?
2. It was boring until Serena got arrested HAHA! (don't get me wrong bout disliking serena, lylas, but seriously it was hilarious!)
3. Definitely Lily having Serena arrested. That was a really stupid thing to do. If Lily doesn't want to be embarassed, then why have her daughter arrested for a false crime? I understood Chuck's reasons, even though I really wanted to slap some sense into him. Why doesn't Chuck understand that what would make Blair happy is him .
4. Serena is NOT the brightest bulb in the shed. A guy scams her and her family out of their money and still believes that he loves her. Really?
5. Chuck will try to help Blair become prom queen somehow. He'll also cast a lot of brooding Chuck stares toward her. Nate and Blair will screw their relationship up without any outside help.
*BONUS* I'm kind of excited. It should be something good to watch when Gossip Girl isn't on. I am a little mad that this flashback is taking up actual Gossip Girl time, though.

1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from the episode?
I loved Jenny's rant about Twilight because like all the Twilight obsessed girls always try to explain Twilight to these people that don't even care.
2. How are you liking the Gabriel-Poppy financial caper story line?
So sooo boring. PLEASE MAKE IT STOP.
3. More puzzling decision: Chuck letting go of Blair because he loves her, or Lily having Serena arrested to avoid drawing attention to the scheme?
Lily having Serena arrested. WOW.
4. Biggest stretch: Serena thinking Gabriel would simply return the money, Dan overhearing everything, or the increasingly strange Kelly Rutherford pregnancy-hiding outfits?
I always forget that shes pregnant. I honestly can never tell but the Dan hearing everything thing was a huge stretch. And how did he not see Georgina in the living room? She's a good girl she doesnt sneak around people's houses and spy anymore.
5. How will Chuck react to seeing Nate and Blair at the prom?
Hopefully Chuck will have some amazing new girl at prom.
BONUS QUESTION: Are you excited for the '80s Lily flashbacks?
YES. It will keep me distracted of from the absence of the real show.
believe it or not i actually liked when Serena thought that Gabriel would give up the money just because she asked him to. The show really keeps reminding us that they're just teenagers.
Georgina coming back and getting back to her old ways...LOVED IT!!!
I loved the "gang's" reaction when Georgina entered the room, especially Dan's LOL
At least for the next episode we see that Serena's not totally a bad apple; the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...
1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from the episode?
somebody posted these before and i agree with them these are my fave. and jenny explaining twilight because the twilight saga is my favorite (btw i am not like other crazy fans i don't go around telling people i love twilight and actually hated the series before reading the books). and now i really want to know did jenny/taylor read them. but back to my favorite show gossip girl
Blair: You don't sound like yourself.
Georgina: That's because I'm not.
Blair: I don't think Jesus would like that.
Georgina: You can tell Jesus the bitch is back.
and
Georgina: I gave up my old ways when I let Jesus take the wheel.
Blair: That's a Carrie Underwood song, not a life choice!
and all conversation between c/b/. the actor are amazing. i can't believe ed/chuck can just sit there and watch her cry like that and look into her eyes.
2. How are you liking the Gabriel-Poppy financial caper story line?
idc for it. it needs to go away. poppy needs to just shave her hair.
3. More puzzling decision: Chuck letting go of Blair because he loves her, or Lily having Serena arrested to avoid drawing attention to the scheme?
lily, come on lily you are being a hypocrite for col. you didn't allow rufus to have jenny arrested but you have serana arrested. especially in front of the RUSSIAN TEA ROOM. wow.
4. Biggest stretch: Serena thinking Gabriel would simply return the money, Dan overhearing everything, or the increasingly strange Kelly Rutherford pregnancy-hiding outfits?
serana needs to think for a few days i think. gabriel is not going to return the money. neither will poppy
5. How will Chuck react to seeing Nate and Blair at the prom?
I think that he will be mad and jeaolus and walk out but at the end he will get blair and will be happy.
BONUS QUESTION: Are you excited for the '80s Lily flashbacks?
TBH I am a actually little excited. personally we need to know more about Lily's past. all we know is the she had a lovechild and lived in California. remember if nobody watches the first few episodes of lily or whatev they are going to call they will not show anymore of them. i just hope it doesn't show a whole lot of them if they have them i hope like a couple minutes here and couple minutes.
and some one said something about emily vancamp she couldn't do it she is on brothers and sisters just to let you know. but she would make a great younger lily.
Why don't people understand Chuck? He said it in his note to Blair after Bart's funeral. "You deserve much better."
Chuck is manning up. He doesn't believe he can make Blair happy. So he's letting her go. Yes, he's foolish to believe what he believes. But he loves her, and was man enough to lose her for the sake of her happiness. As to how he'll react at the prom to Blair and Nate, I think he'll go back to the friend he was back at the very beginning of the first season. He'll encourage Blair and Nate's relationship, and he'll be working behind the scenes to make Blair happy.
1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from the episode?
Blair: "I'm just as flummoxed as you are. I got out at 53rd and made a run for it but he is faster than he looks." I love that b/c this is Blair being herself around Nate. The fact he didn't respond with a clever bon mot (as C. would) was disappointing - but not surprising.
2. How are you liking the Gabriel-Poppy financial caper story line?
Kudos to the writers for keeping storylines timely. And really, it is a stretch to think Serena would get con'd?
3. More puzzling decision: Chuck letting go of Blair because he loves her, or Lily having Serena arrested to avoid drawing attention to the scheme?
Of course Chuck set her free - he must think "Wrong" is his personal anthem! Lily acting like her mother out of the blue? Maybe over the course of a season - but not in a few eps.
4. Biggest stretch: Serena thinking Gabriel would simply return the money, Dan overhearing everything, or the increasingly strange Kelly Rutherford pregnancy-hiding outfits?
Serena thinking he'd return the money... you'd think when she realized she'd been naive, she'd have stopped being so naive!
5. How will Chuck react to seeing Nate and Blair at the prom?
The word that comes to mind is 'wistful'. We know he's going to be Good Chuck, but I read somewhere it's Chuck *and Serena* that help Blair... hmmm...
BONUS QUESTION: Are you excited for the '80s Lily flashbacks?
No. I'm seriously ticked that they would split the episode about SENIOR PROM with the flashbacks. I'd rather watch the girls dress-shopping and the mean girls agonizing over dates. This is the social culmination of high school, and they don't even allude to it except for a throw-away comment from Blair to Nate?! Not only unbelieveable, but lame. :(

1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from the episode?
It might be when Georgina enters the room that everyone is in and Dan goes, "We have to get this crazy bitch out of here."
2. How are you liking the Gabriel-Poppy financial caper story line?
It's ridiculous. And not believable. They don't have anything better for Serena? And Lily having her daughter arrested is more scandal than an investment scam. It's a weak storyline.
3. More puzzling decision: Chuck letting go of Blair because he loves her, or Lily having Serena arrested to avoid drawing attention to the scheme?
I think they are both quite lame. Chuck trying to show a nice side by thinking he's not good enough is not believable. In the first season, I believed he was madly in love with Blair. So far now I don't believe it at all. And Lily having her daughter arrested was ridiculous! What would she have done if Serena wasn't wearing the bracelet? Did she know for sure she was?
4. Biggest stretch: Serena thinking Gabriel would simply return the money, Dan overhearing everything, or the increasingly strange Kelly Rutherford pregnancy-hiding outfits?
It's a toss up between Dan overhearing everything and S thinking Gabriel would turn the money in. I think Dan was even more of a stretch. When someone is in love, they believe the best. Dan is just always getting in the way of things.
5. How will Chuck react to seeing Nate and Blair at the prom?
I don't think he'll react at all. He'll do nothing like he's been doing most of the season. He "said she was free to go", remember. So why would he do something now. He has to know they'd go to the prom together.

4. Biggest stretch: Serena thinking Gabriel would simply return the money, Dan overhearing everything, or the increasingly strange Kelly Rutherford pregnancy-hiding outfits?

If you love something let it go. If it's meant to be it'll find its way back to you. Lily told Rufus not to arrest Jenny and then has her own daughter arrested.. little bit of hypocrisy there.
4. Biggest stretch: Serena thinking Gabriel would simply return the money, Dan overhearing everything, or the increasingly strange Kelly Rutherford pregnancy-hiding outfits?
Serena thinking Gabriel would just hand the money over. It's easy to overhear things and although Kelly's outfits are definitely getting stranger, no con artist would just hand the money back over.

He'll get jealous and try to get Blair back most likely. I'm hoping she'll go back.

2. I didn't really enjoy it before, by Georgina was just so captivating when she interfered!

1.S:"Chuck why did you just do that?"
C:"Because i love her, and i can't make her happy..."
Favorite quote because he finally spoke the truth about his feelings which made me sad because Hello if you love her be with her!!!AAAh it's utterly ridiculous!!
2.I think this scheme is just cruel, Serena may be blonde and so naive, but it's not fair that she get's to be taken advantage like that!I may not be a big fan of her but i respect her sincerity!
3.I think Chuck and Blair will definitely end up together, him wanting her to be happy is just an other way to prove that he cares about her deeply!I just wish S spills the beans to B about the "I

May 5th, 2009 6:41 PM

May 5th, 2009 7:01 PM

May 5th, 2009 7:14 PM
believe it or not i actually liked when Serena thought that Gabriel would give up the money just because she asked him to.

May 5th, 2009 8:00 PM
Why don't people understand Chuck? He said it in his note to Blair after Bart's funeral. "You deserve much better."
Chuck is manning up. He doesn't believe he can make Blair happy. So he's letting her go. Yes, he's foolish to believe what he believes. But he loves her, and was man enough to lose her for the sake of her happiness. As to how he'll react at the prom to Blair and Nate, I think he'll go back to the friend he was back at the very beginning of the first season. He'll encourage Blair and Nate's relationship, and he'll be working behind the scenes to make Blair happy.
May 5th, 2009 8:08 PM
May 5th, 2009 8:12 PM
May 5th, 2009 8:20 PM
1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from the episode?
I have two, which is normal because i always have two:
Georgina: "You can tell Jesus the bitch is back."
& I don't remember the exact words, but Chuck admitting to Serena that he loves Blair. It made me go awww.
2. How are you liking the Gabriel-Poppy financial caper story line?
It's getting a bit old. Hopefully Georgina's plan to get Poppy spices things up.
3. More puzzling decision: Chuck letting go of Blair because he loves her, or Lily having Serena arrested to avoid drawing attention to the scheme?
The Lily thing. She is starting to really annoy me. Hypocrite!
4. Biggest stretch: Serena thinking Gabriel would simply return the money, Dan overhearing everything, or the increasingly strange Kelly Rutherford pregnancy-hiding outfits?
Serena. Come on honey, haven't you learned by now?
Dan always manages to hear everything. Oh man, that boy. Plus, I didn't notice Kelly's stomach.. so.. yup.
5. How will Chuck react to seeing Nate and Blair at the prom?
I have a feeling that they'll end up together on prom night. At least, that is what I'm hoping for. Oh please, please!
BONUS QUESTION: Are you excited for the '80s Lily flashbacks?
I'm excited to see it because I want to know if the spinoff will be any good.
May 5th, 2009 8:42 PM
1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from the episode?
Georgina: I gave up my old ways when I let Jesus take the wheel.
Blair: That's a Carrie Underwood song, not a life choice.
2. How are you liking the Gabriel-Poppy financial caper story line?
End it, it's boring me to death.
3. More puzzling decision: Chuck letting go of Blair because he loves her, or Lily having Serena arrested to avoid drawing attention to the scheme?
If you love something let it go. If it's meant to be it'll find its way back to you. Lily told Rufus not to arrest Jenny and then has her own daughter arrested.. little bit of hypocrisy there.
4. Biggest stretch: Serena thinking Gabriel would simply return the money, Dan overhearing everything, or the increasingly strange Kelly Rutherford pregnancy-hiding outfits?
Serena thinking Gabriel would just hand the money over. It's easy to overhear things and although Kelly's outfits are definitely getting stranger, no con artist would just hand the money back over.
5. How will Chuck react to seeing Nate and Blair at the prom?
He'll get jealous and try to get Blair back most likely. I'm hoping she'll go back.
BONUS QUESTION: Are you excited for the '80s Lily flashbacks?
Not really, I'd rather just have a regular episode. Although I'm a No Doubt fan so it might hold some interest for me.
May 5th, 2009 8:44 PM
1. Jenny explaining the plot of Twilight to Lily. Totally caught me off guard!
2. I didn't really enjoy it before, by Georgina was just so captivating when she interfered!
3. Lily. Like people have said before, HYPOCRITE!
4. Serena. She just....I couldn't believe that she seemed to stay naive throughout the whole thing.
5. I'm sure he expects it. He's supposed to help Blair be happy in the next ep, which truthfully I'm looking forward to in contrast to the heartbreaking scene this week.
BONUS: I'm looking foward to seeing Brittany Snow. Love her!
