"The Goodbye Gossip Girl" Sneak Preview

We've posted our Gossip Girl spoilers to give you plenty to speculate and talk about before Monday. Now here's your first glimpse of the Gossip Girl season finale.

In this scene from early in the episode, Jenny expresses reluctance to throw her hat in the ring to rule the school, but perhaps she'll have a change of heart ...

Exclusive Gossip Girl Spoilers: Season Two Finale

Wow. It was an intense, emotional screening of the Season Two finale at the Gossip Girl Insider office. Suffice it to say, it got a little dusty in here at the end, while the floors may have been dented from all the jaws dropping left and right.

Because this is the final episode until August 31 (Season 3 premiere!), and because so much happens, we're not posting a full recap before the show airs this time.

Delayed gratification, people. Patience. It will be worth it. We promise. In the meantime, we present you with the following hints, teases and Gossip Girl spoilers:

  • A couple gets engaged ... and stoned.
  • Carter Baizen makes a surprise appearance.
  • Vanessa will definitely be around next season.
  • Reluctantly, J decides she wants to rule the school.
  • When Serena tries to unmask Gossip Girl, it backfires. Hard.
  • We find out Blair's roommate at NYU, and it's someone we know.
  • While Jack Bass does not appear in the episode, he still plays a role.
  • Someone we know - a dude - is falsely accused of being Gossip Girl.
  • We now know what brought Serena to Santorini ... or more accurately, who.
  • Chuck Bass is branded a coward by Gossip Girl in the blogger's shocking graduation blast, and for a while, he certainly lives up to the billing.
  • Lily and Rufus' long-lost love child, Scott, is alive, well, and in New York. No one knows his identity yet, but he has something up his sleeve.
  • At no point in the episode does the following scene occur. Props to Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage for thinking up and pulling off this ruse!

"The Goodbye Gossip Girl" Canadian Promo

Below is a slightly different promo for Monday's upcoming Season 2 finale, "The Goodbye Gossip Girl," courtesy of a Canadian fan. Sorry for the poor quality, but you do get to see some snippets not shown in the CW version. Here goes ...

Gossip Girl Spoilers: About Time

Here's a little Gossip Girl spoiler from Michael Ausiello at EW today that most of you will probably be excited to hear. With just four days to go until the finale, what do we have to look forward to? Well, use your imagination based on the excerpt below ...

Q: Could you please, please give us some juicy scoop on the upcoming Gossip Girl finale? It would really make my day.

A: One of the cliffhangers involves Georgina ... and Dan, and another Blair and Chuck. Actually, the latter is less a cliffhanger and more a itisaboutfreakingtime.

A Season Finale Moment?

SPECIAL GOSSIP GIRL INSIDER NOTE: Because Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and the folks at the CW / Warner Bros. are so awesome, we received an advance DVD copy of the season finale, "The Goodbye Gossip Girl," this week.

Unlike previous episodes we've watched early, in which the grander Gossip Girl landscape was not altered, this finale is big, and as a result, we won't be recapping it in full at their request. Gotta keep you in suspense a little, right?

However, we will be posting some good spoilers later today! Check back!

Gossip Girl Spoilers: Serena's Season Finale Suitor is ...

... Nate Archibald? Don't count on it, at least not this coming Monday. Despite rumors going around that Serena and Nate might be getting back together, it looks like she's being pursued by someone we wouldn't expect - who do you think it is?

Also, is Blair headed for a rude awakening next season?

Check out this excerpt from TV Guide's spoiler column:

Q: You made a recent, potentially sarcastic remark about Gossip Girl's Serena and Nate happening. I need to know if there is anything to that remark, because I am more hopeful than I should be about Serenate finding their way back together. Please help!

A: Hope springs eternal, Megan! I will downgrade my previous sarcastic remark to say that the possibility of Serenate is alive and well through the end of the season. But Serena's season-finale suitor is someone entirely different - and surprising.

If it's a happy ending you're looking for, forget it. Although Blair hears some magic words, her fall is looking increasingly shrouded in dread. Welcome to NYU, B.!

Extended Promo: "The Goodbye Gossip Girl"

We posted the first promo earlier today. Now, below is a longer, higher-quality version of the CW's teaser for next week's big second season finale of Gossip Girl.

As the network itself has hinted - and we've discussed in our Round Table - there could be some major plot details revealed and things left hanging for Season 3.

Take a look at the promo and share your thoughts ...

Gossip Girl Round Table: "Valley Girls"

You've sounded off in our Gossip Girl forum at great length. Now it's the Gossip Girl Insider staff's turn to come together and analyze the burning questions, classic quotes and memorable moments from last night's episode, as is our Tuesday custom.

Welcome to the Gossip Girl Round Table!

This week's hot Gossip Girl topics from "Valley Girls" include memorable lines, the pros and cons of '80s Lily, Nair's breakup, Derena's future and next week's finale ...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from the episode?
DANdy: Carol's reference to a music video as equating to "national exposure [and] the birth of a new art form." This was true for awhile on MTV, but the network then killed the music video in favor of people such as Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. I blame you for their existence, Carol.
Gossip Guy: Can I actually go with the whole exchange of Dorota bringing the dress to Blair instead of a quote? I guess if we had to limit it to just a quote, I'll go with the "This body bag, corpse not pretty" as she held up the dry cleaning bag.
Mister Meester: I love my celebrity gossip, so it's gotta be Blair's observation that "Serena's been in jail for four hours, she's already served more time than Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie combined!" She must think these up in advance.
2. Did Blair break up with Nate for the right reasons?
DANdy: Yes. There are always three acceptable reasons for a break up: infidelity; a sex change; and clearly being in love with your boyfriend's BFF.
Mister Meester: While I agree with Gossip Girl that our queen was with the wrong king up on that stage, it still seemed a little sudden and forced to me. Nate received virtually no explanation, nor did he ask for one. Perhaps without devoting half the episode to flashbacks, this could have been developed better.
Gossip Guy:  No. The right reasons were because he's not Chuck, but at least she made the choice in the end.
Gossip Girl Spoilers: More Season 2 Finale Scoop
With just one more Gossip Girl episode to go in this second season, E! Online has a little season finale gossip in its spoiler Q&A today. Here's some interesting scoop on those graduation pics, the infamous blast from Gossip Girl, the love child and more ...
Q: Anything you can share about the Gossip Girl finale?
A: You know how we saw those Gossip Girl set photos in which Blair is kissing both Chuck and Nate on the street? One of them was a total fake-out. Teehee!
Leighton Meester Kissing Pics
In other season finale news, Little J comes into her own (there's a nice rapprochement between her and Blair), Gossip Girl calls Nate a whore, and you do not realize the Lily-Rufus spawn is already there until the very last minute.
In addition to all of that, there's a hint that several familiar background faces might become recurring - or even regular - characters in Season Three.
The publication promises more information about the realistic prospects for those recurrences after we have all seen the finale on Monday, May 18.
Thoughts? Theories? Comment away below!
"The Goodbye Gossip Girl" Promo
Below is the first promo for next week's second season finale, "The Goodbye Gossip Girl." Graduation has come and Gossip Girl is not sitting idly. A devastating blast sent during commencement shakes things up - and Serena decides to take her out.
Gossip Girl Episode Recap, Pics, Quotes, Music & More
Monday night's Gossip Girl episode, "Valley Girls," featured mother-daughter conflict in multiple generations - as well as a truckload of '80s fashion and music.
As Serena butted heads with Lily, we flashed back to 1983, when a rebellious young L clashed with her mom CeCe (also seen in this episode in the present).
While Lily and sis Carol were up to no good a quarter-century ago, the Upper East Siders went to prom - and you won't believe what Chuck pulled this time.
