Report: Gossip Girl Spinoff Dead on Arrival?

According to reports, the much-talked about Gossip Girl spinoff we were getting ready to see previews of in Monday's episode is no longer happening.

The upcoming "Valley Girls" contains flashback scenes which were supposed to provide a tempting taste for next fall's spinoff following the wild teen years of Lily van der Woodsen (played by Brittany Snow) in Los Angeles during the 1980s.

But even though the CW executives reportedly loved its yesteryear vibe, the new show from GG executive producer Josh Schwartz went from hot, to lukewarm, to "fading but wouldn't count out," to now dead, according to insiders.

With three time slots to fill and six pilots under consideration, the Gossip Girl spinoff apparently didn't make the final cut, for one reason or another.

UPDATE: E! Online is reporting that while the spinoff is indeed battling the new Melrose Place (which looks like a virtual lock) along with The Beautiful Life and Vampire Diaries, reports that it's out of the running completely are premature.

Nevertheless, not good news for those hoping for the spinoff. Can Monday's episode resurrect its hopes? Are you disappointed? Apathetic? Tell us below.

Gossip Girl Spoilers: Surviving the Prom

Michael Ausiello of EW has a little Gossip Girl spoiler in his weekly Q&A this morning. It's brief, but significant. Take a gander and share your prediction ...

Q: Any new scoop on Gossip Girl?

A: One relationship won't survive prom night.

Which Gossip Girl relationship do you think he means? Will it be the obvious, controversial pairing of Nate and Blair - or another couple?

Prom Queen and King?

Will the prom be the last of Nair on Gossip Girl?

Taylor Momsen Rocks Out, is Pretty Reckless

Many actors who venture into music experience catastrophic results.

Will this week's debut of Pretty Reckless, a band fronted by none other than Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen, fall into that category? Or can she actually rock?

Playing at the Annex, a club in NYC's Lower East Side, before a small army of girls at who probably should've been home much earlier on a school night - much like Momsen's GG character, Jenny Humphrey - the 15-year-old took the stage.

Here's a clip of Taylor singing below ...

Follow the jump for two more videos of Taylor Momsen fronting the band Pretty Reckless and channeling her inner Courtney Love ... minus hard drugs of course:

Chris Riggi to Play Scott in Gossip Girl Finale

The spawn of Lily and Rufus is here!

Actor Chris Riggi will appear in the Gossip Girl season finale as Scott, the long-lost love child of Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle).

That means on-again, off-again Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) will come face-to-face with their half-brother.

Who is this guy? How did this come to pass? And what does it all mean for our favorite Upper East Siders, young and old? Theories abound, for sure.

The return of Scott is going to be "a major grenade" in the relationship of Lily and Rufus. But what got the turbulent pair to this unexpected place?

Derena and Scott

Earlier this season, Rufus found out Lily didn't just break up with him when they were teenagers, she ran away to secretly give birth to their son overseas.

That reveal was shortly trumped by the news that their boy Scott, who'd been adopted by a nice suburban family, had recently died in a sailing accident.

Of course, as it turns out, the adoptive parents were lying and it was actually their other kid who had died. The Rufus-Lily-spawn, Scott, is alive and well.

Now he's coming to New York City. What does this mean for the kids, Dan, Jenny, Serena and Eric? Can Rufus and Lily's fragile relationship survive it?

Comment away with your theories below!
