Dan with a new GF! finally! serena needs to see dan with another girl, and not being her back-up plans all the time when her relationship with others dont work out. I love DS, but Dan needs a new gf for now

Josh Swartz is doing it again! O.C. starting going down in the 3rd season...and oh! What a coincidence...Gossip Girl is going to it's 3rd season.....*sigh*
Gossip Girl needs to remain briging actors that are unknown...so that it remains about the show and the characters and not about friggin' celebrities being on it....this is so bad.
And don't get me wrong, I like Hillary Duff, I liked her in Cinderella movie...but no, totally not a good fit for GG.

It might be better to cast that PC-stalker-cross-eyed-blonde girl on NYC Prep!? What happens in real life for Manhatten's elite is not nearly as interesting as GG!

I agree with what some other people have said: Gossip Girl needs to stay with relatively unknown actors. That way, it's about the character and not the celebrity. In this case, it's even worse because Hilary Duff has a reputation for cheesy Disney roles and awful movies. I understand that she wants to change that, but as of now, that's still how the public sees her. She needs to concentrate on proving herself as a capable actress without interfering with already established shows like GG. The more "big names" you have, the more crass and commercial shows seem to become.
And you just can't compare Michelle/Georgina to Hilary. Michelle was in ONE Disney movie before GG, and Ice Princess wasn't terrible. She'd had many roles before GG, too. Hilary, on the other hand, had a silly, cliché-ridden pre-teen show on Disney for a significant amount of time, spawning Happy Meal toys and clothing lines. She "starred" in dozens of "movies" that turned out to be terrible. Gossip Girl does NOT need this. In fact, it sounds like bad news for GG in general. I hope there's still time to reconsider, but I'm not holding my breath.

She's going to be awful.. I can't believe they lowered themselves to signing Hilary Duff, surely they're not that desperate for guest stars? I hate her character already, thank god it's only a few episodes!! I hope she doesn't try to sing..

When i was little i loved Lizzie McGuire, and Hilary was literally my hero. I still like her, but i think her style of acting is different than the kind of acting for Gossip Girl. In her tv show, and most of her movies, she was the uncomfortable shy girl, not the one who is devious and full of drama. I hope she can pull it off. I still love Hilary, but i dont thnk she is fit for this roll. She's still a good actress though.

FINALLY!! A love intrest for Dan and not a fling with the teacher. I have been waiting for this because Dan has never had a love intrest since he dated Serena. (Ms. Carr doesn't count)

didn't anyone see georgina sparks in disneys ice princess?
anyways I do think that it'll make the storyline less believable considering she's known as a teeny pop celebrity
heck this would be as creepy as putting miley cyrus in the film "cruel intentions"
but hilary duff has surely seen gossip girl before, shell adapt and blend in with the other gossip girl casts

Hilary Duff seems too "nice" to play a bad girl, and because of the way her "girl next door" appearance was greatly promoted for such a long time, it'll be difficult to imagine her changing that...however she is older now, and her recent media clips reflect the change of how she wants to present herself. Yet at the same time audiences (both fans and haters alike) will probably be very critical of her acting performance and compare it to the way she was.
