Taylor Momsen Prefers Older Guys

Taylor Momsen, Sweet 16? Not exactly.

Teenagers around the country tune in to Gossip Girl to see Taylor play Jenny Humphrey – a high school rebel with the obligatory, requisite teen angst.

But Momsen says she's hardly a typical 16-year-old in real life.

"I live a very adult life," the high school graduate (she got her diploma two years early!) tells Teen Vogue in its new September issue.

"What am I going to do, hang out with high school kids? I just can't relate to what they talk about – it all seems so petty to me."

That includes high school boys. Taylor Momsen, who claims to have been in "lots of relationships," says she could never date a guy who's also 16.

"Boys are so much less mature than girls as it is," the Gossip Girl actress says.

"I would eat a boy my age alive."

Instead, Momsen is eschewing the idea of a traditional college education, opting to take classes online, sing in her band, The Pretty Reckless, and act.

"I'm an artist; I'm not going to use trigonometry," she says. "For most people college is a place where you learn about yourself."

"I feel like I'm doing that already. I'm already independent."

But what about making new college friends?

"I have such trust complexes," Momsen admits. "I'm close to like, two people."

Still, all her insecurities fade away when she steps in front of a crowd to sing. Having spent her life in front of a camera, she's used to it, and doesn't mind if Gossip Girl fans don't "get" her rock star persona or her look.

"I'm pretty, but I'm not, like, a 'pretty girl,'" she says, adding that she modeled her new 'do on a Joan Jett photo. "I know people were a little, um, taken aback. But it wasn't me that changed – it was just that I decided to start being myself."

    "I'm pretty"

Just a tad modest there Taylor??

  2. silvieOMFG Says:

I think there's no problem in saying that oneself is pretty... in my opinion there's nothing more anoying than someone pretty saying "oh, I've never considered myself pretty"... that's bullshit!

    just saying :)

"I'm an artist"? This interview it`s just... very annoying.
She looks very silly and full of bullshit

  4. Peace/Love/GG Says:

I have no problems with Taylor, but this interview makes her sound VERY stuck up. "I would eat a boy my age alive." Maybe you would, but that doesn't mean you should TELL that to people.

"I live a very adult life. What am I going to do, hang out with high school kids? I just can't relate to what they talk about – it all seems so petty to me." She sounds stuck-up and snobbish. Really, she didn't even TRY to be modest anywhere in the article.

"I'm an artist; I'm not going to use trigonometry," she says. "For most people college is a place where you learn about yourself." GAH! This is super cliché. No, college is where you get a DEGREE so you can be SMART and get a JOB. It is not an endless party, which is the impression she's giving us.

Sorry, but this was not Taylor's finest moment. It makes me feel kind of angry, actually. I think she needs to remember that, no matter how cool she thinks she is, she's still only 16. :D

WTF! shes so dumb and shes NOT pretty , and she should act 16 , band her band SUCKS

  6. Jules Says:

The faux-maturity she exhibits in this article reveals just how much like a 16-year-old she really is.

And someday she will regret her justification for donning a dated Joan Jett-inspired mullet.

  7. Blair Cornelia Archibald Says:

    @SilvieOMFG
There isn't anything wrong with saying you're pretty if it's true.
There is, however, something wrong with being quoted as calling yourself pretty THREE times in one article. I know the whole thing isn't here but in teenVogue she calls herself pretty in three separate quotes.

This whole thing just makes her sound really immature. Although I guess with being on set a lot where everyone else is late teens-early twenties she probably feels like she needs to act more grown up, but she could do it a little less arrogantly.

  8. GGFAN Says:

wow...that interview was special and not in a good way. She sounded so stuck up. I thought most of it sounded extremely rude and pricky... and it insulted most of the demographics that Gossip Girls goes for(teen girls who are in high school going to college!) Not her finest moment! Someone needs to get her off her high horse.

  9. jenny Says:

Taylor does sound very arrogant in this interview, but who knows how much of it has been edited for her to appear a certain way.

I do think that Taylor was pretty--once. In her S1 and early S2 days, she was quite pretty.

  10. V Says:

Thats was such a load of BS! She thinks that because shes 17 (just turned) that she has life figured out and its as easy as pie. Ha thats a laugh! Im a fan of little J but im 20 years old and I dont even have life or men figured out yet. Taylor doesnt even attend formal schooling so how does she think she knows it all?

    Badddd PR!
