Miss "I'm too cool to hang out with high schoolers"!? Who do you think you are?! You are 16 years old for God's sake. You play a part that's supposed to attract those high schoolers you can't stand to talk to!
I really hope her career goes downhill just as this economy is going, because she doesn't deserves success if she doesn't appreciates the people that have given it to her.
Also, she understands if GG fans don't get her cheap ass look!? Well, honey, let me tell you, we have seen Courtney Love.
And being just 'pretty' is the only thing you are gonna have left if you continue with these absurd comments. You'll get old, no stupid band--or "career" at the age of 20--wrinkles will appear, and no one will stand your stupid behavior.
If you are really an adult, then grow up and get over yourself!

Guys, guys, guys. Have you ever read Teen Vogue? Or any other teen magazine that is not a tabloid, such as CosmoGIRL! or Seventeen?
I mean, props to you guys for taking words from a magazine with a grain of salt, but it'd be extremely out of character for Teen Vogue to be purposely highlighting her in a negative way. I've only ever seen them attempt to put a dramatic spin on things in their monthly feature on a drug/alcohol/other dangerous trends. Not in their celebrity features, ever.
Seventeen and CosmoGIRL! are even worse... if anything, they're guilty of fudging interviews to make the interviewee sound like much more of a Cinderella story than they actually are. And Teen Vogue kind of follows that lead, imo.
Highly doubtful that T.V. would be framing Taylor negatively especially since she was their cover girl. Really, guys? Trying to make their cover girl look bad? They try to do the opposite.

i agree that Teen Vogue could have changed the artticle a little to make her sound concerited. i get the older guy thing because guys our age (im 16) are really immature so dating the older guy thing is natural. and people saying that she sounds conceited because she thought she was pretty, i commend her on saying that because girls our age are at a stage were their confidence is questioned because of being compared to everyone else. but thing that made me made was saying that high school people are petty...thats so sterotyped and i thought that was ignorant of her....i sitll like her though and love jenny as a character....NATE AND JENNY FOREVER

i mean, i dont exactly disagree with anything she said here, like she is pretty and talented and i understand where shes coming from but saying it herself just makes her sound stuck up and snobbish.

"I'm an artist; I'm not going to use trigonometry," she says
is such a great way to inspire kids to stay in school and get an education.
How did she manage to skip the two last years of high school and graduate early?????? Wish I could have done that!!! Would´ve saved much time of my life :D

cut her some slack.
she is still young and immature.
she thinks she knows everything about the world
because she had different lifestyle than most people.
she was forced to grow up early due to her acting career.
anyway, we should be pitying her;
we can all experience life of an adulthood,
but she'll never be able experience being a normal teenager
im usually a huge supporter of all the gossip girl stars, and love buying the magazines that they appear on. but reading this, i will not be buying this magazine. i think taylor needs to remember that alot of her fans (or at least fans that watch the show) are in a 16-19 year old age range, or highschool. so i agree with others above, bad pr.

the interview was edited for sure, but I get why people are mad. she does seem arrogant, but I don't hate her. I think there is a part of her that is very mature, probably the whole"growing up on tv" thing. But, like any 16 years old girl there's probably a very insecure part of her that she probably kept to herself for the interview. Sometimes showing your "confidence" to much makes you look conceited.
so, not her best interview BUT I don't hate her.
I've seen her recent video interviews, they did NO editing. She's actually turned into this arrogant fake-punk, smoker-so-her-voice-sounds-depper monster. And she takes every opportunity to remind us that she "totally writes all the songs," shes talented, I know. But shes more vain than gifted.

The magazine surely edited the interview, that's what they do. But I still think she's stuck up and arrogant. I think she didn't even bother not to sound so stuck up. She thinks she a big rockstar omg-i-can-do-whatever-i-want. Yup, that kinda attitude SURE is really mature...Let's see where she will be in about 5 years... Probably REHAB.
Maturity isn't judged by age, or the fact that you party with 24 year olds at your 16th birthday. She has a lot to learn about life. It's mature experiences, not you partying and rocking it up with a second rate band that do that for you.
I always enjoyed hanging around with older folks, but that still doesn't mean that I instantly was so harsh on people my own age. They still were able to teach me things about myself.

There are only two things that I agree with Taylor on:
1. Most artists don't need to go to a formal high school, because as a filmmaker, it's very frustrating knowing that I'm spending all this time learning about things like advanced algebra and the rules of badmitton, that I won't need.
2. Boys are are VERY immature in high school and older guys are way hotter.
Other than that this interview is complete bs. She can only live that life because she has money and has famous connections. If I had that kind of money I would already be directing major motion pictures and be able to go to clubs and shopping all time, instead of working part time at a bookstore.
Taylor, you're not the only talented teenager in the world, get over yourself. Their are thousands if not millions of us just waiting for our big break. 'Nuff said

I agree with Whale Sweater in that the magazine probably edited what she said to make her sound conceited. I have no idea why that would serve their purposes, but there's no way this was the exact context. Still, the fact remains that she DID say this stuff, so she needs to deal with the consequences (ie angry people.) I'm sure less people would be angry if she explained herself better. Saying "I'm mature" makes people hate you. *cough cough some comments* But saying, "I feel that I'm pretty mature as I've been paying my family's bills singlehandedly since the age of 16" makes people more sympathetic...idk what I'm trying to say...When you don't have the facts to back up what you're saying (or you don't make them available to people) what you say comes across as an OPINION and that in turn makes you sound conceited. Really, I think it's dreadful to flat out say anything about yourself, even if it's true, because it makes you seem like an arrogant braggart. Just my two cents. :D
the way that she is talking in this interview just proves how immature she is and that she is completely inexperienced as a teenager so she must make up for it by pretending to be mature. she is a typical 16 year old as much as she doesn't want to admit it, what teen does? hello!!! college it for your education! not for friends and finding your self...so when she is 30 and divorced, out of work and the band is broken up, we will have a very sad Taylor on our hands. a very helpless and poor taylor.
