This episode wasn't perfect, but i thought it was a hell of a lot better than the god awful premiere. -I've always loved Georgina, and was totally on her side tonight. I just hope they're not trying to make her genuinley sweet and vulnerable, she has to be the Heart of Darkness. -"we have to discuss the epicness" VANNESSA IS VULGAR, nuff said. -Why is Nate even around at this point? It was just these random scenes that weren't connected to anything. Nate can't act and should have been written off long ago. I just kept hoping him and that girl might starve to death in their expirement.
haha the second episode was definitely better than the first. didnt have much drama but it was cute and hilarious and different, thts for sure. and the last scene with chuck n blair was actually so sweet. blair, chuck, serena, and carter were the best this ep.

thru out the whole ep, Ive just been annoyed with serena. srsly does she have to hook up with almost every guy on the show?
The whole episode suck, to be honest I was expecting to this bad. The only part that honestly had me was the TWO chair scene, Like I melted.. And it was only a 1 minute long
Dan/Georgie are my second favorite couple ;P
Taylor Says: September 21st, 2009 10:02 PM
that chair scene at the end killed me. they are too epic to contain.

Just because certain characters were seen as more important in the books doesn't mean they haven't become major characters in the television show. The characters and their importance aren't the only differences between the two; the books and the show should be viewed and thought of separately.
BTW, I just finished watching the episode and must say it was fantastic. And - semi-spoiler alert - although there isn't much Chuck/Blair interaction, there is a beyond adorable scene with the two near the end. Even if you have to sit through mind-numbingly dull Vanessa scenes, it's all worth it.
Also fantastic: Chuck uses the phrase "Bass cave", and calls Serena a train-wreck! Enough said.
Jkay - i am not defending this writing choice but i feel like the reason that they have blair struggle so much is so that they can also have her be a ruthless bitch and people won't hate her. it's her "sympathetic" side. if she was a total bitch and also got the free ride that serena gets i think she would be a really unlikeable character but if they make it so she is always struggling then we have empathy and see her vulnerable side and root for her even though half of what she does is pretty mean and messed up. don't get me wrong, i love blair and her bitchiness but objectively if someone told you about a girl pulling half the stuff she does you'd be like "what a bitch!" i am not saying this isn't a pretty cheap and easy formula (because it is) but i get why they do it. that said i think it's time to try something different.
SO EXCITED. intrested to see what causes serena not to go to brown

AH! I spelled actors wrong -- just wanted to fix that. "acotrs" (:P) = actors
Cecelia Says: September 21st, 2009 6:08 PM
In season one I remember the list of acotrs/actresses, in order of how prominent their characters are, was: Blake Lively Leighton Meester Penn Badgley Chace Crawford Taylor Momsen Ed Westwick
Then it would be Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle, though of course this season we have Jessica Szohr, so she's in there, too.
So, anyway, the point is that you guys are forgetting Penn (Dan), who is actually more important than Chace and Ed! Also, less important but still in the main cast, are Taylor and (like it or not--sorry!) Jessica.
I agree Isabella Waldass, except they never really let Blair rise last season, just had her struggle some more. I'm so over this show.
Isabella Waldass Says: September 21st, 2009 5:13 PM
So back to the episode. I'm not that excited for it at all. it a little weird because i wasn't excited for 'Never been Marcus' either. It was the second episode last season.
Aren't we pass Blair falling flat on her face? ie her title season 1 and Yale season 2. It's just bad writing. We get it Blair fall a few times before she rises. Can't they write something else?
I seriously wonder if you're just a troll sometimes, akin to Fake Sabiina, except you seem to be too damn genuine, now that's scary.

i agree with what Hepburn says, things have changed. Blair and Chuck's storyline has stolen the show. i'm pretty sure that there are a lot more people who sympathize Chuck's character better than Nate's and Dan's. i'm one of them
Hepburn Says: September 21st, 2009 1:34 PM
look let me sort this out now for everyone. this was the casts original list of importance, though things have changed alot since then...
1.Serena (a.k.a Blake) the most uncontroversial tv character in history.
2.Nate (a.k.a Chase) lacks skill and professionalism but makes up for all that as wonderful eye candy.
3.Blair (a.k.a Leighton) the typically notorious high-school bitch who admittedly relied on Serena's absence for all her social status.
4.Dan (a.k.a Penn) a cute, harmless, witty brooklyn boy who the audience was supposed to relate to.
5.Jenny (a.k.a Taylor) a pretty, troubled teenage girl attempting to fit in with the in crowd in Constance, with an original style.
6.Chuck (a.k.a Ed) a supporting character to the group. The producers see from early how he manages to balance slimy sleaziness with perfect charm, making him a more complex and interesting character.
Kelsey Says: September 21st, 2009 1:09 PM
Actually people Jenny and Dan are main characters aswell if you read the books and look at the credits taylor momsens put in before chuck, they was actually only going to use him as a surporting role, so get your facts right. And they was one of the first shot when the first episode was done too. So i dont know where your silly ideas have come from that serena and nate and chuck and blair are the only main chracters because you dont see that on the front of the dvd cases do you now.
John Doe Says: September 21st, 2009 12:57 PM

When I first heard of a Dair, I was like 'ewwwwwwwwww, no!', but now, it seems like a good idea to me. I want Chuck and Blair to be together, but I want more than a unsecure Blair and a careless Chuck. We've seen that last season. If to stir things up, a Dair is necessary, so be it. It would be interesting to have Blair changing a little bit, getting together with Dan and afterwards realizing that she is actually a rich spoiled bitch and that she belongs to Chuck. One of the best things about those two is how their personalities match. I hope that a Dair will be useful to bring the old Blair back.
