A number of photos have been emailed to us from the Gossip Girl set this week. From what we've gathered, there is a drowning scene - someone drowns or at least comes close to it - in the fifth episode of the current season.
That would be "Rufus Getting Married," airing Monday, October 12.
The picture below shows the cast and crew apparently at the edge of a pier, though it is not known where the scene is supposed to take place or who goes in the drink (though someone in a suit looks poised to dive in).
A stunt double for Chuck or Nate maybe? What do you think?
UPDATE: Thanks to our readers for the new intel and theory that this is Nate's cousin Tripp, and the episode in question is actually "The Grandfather, Part II," the eighth of the season and scheduled for a November 2 airing.

i dont know if its a stunt double for nate or chuck. maybe for somebody else, but not them.

It looks like the Scott, or whatever his name is, Dan's long lost illegitimate brother...so maybe Dan or Rufus fell in. Hopefully Venessa fell in and drowns, I'm not a fan of her. She's such a whiney snooze.

Oh, no, actually I'm not sure, it's just that I believe they're shooting around episode 8/9 already and it would be around The Grandfather Part II and since there is a big wedding in wich Lily isn't the bride, maybe it's Trip's wedding with that random girl we met last season. I think the shooting for Rufus Getting Married are done, we already have promo pics, we know there will be Sonic Youth playing, a big party and all, but an open air wedding filmed now is veery very unlikely.
Finally, the casting call for drowning man was originally for episode 8, The Grandfather Part II.

I think this drowning man just... drowning and then giving a quick interview is just... no, there's a catch about all this.

this is for epi 8 there is a casting call for a drowned man and a pic of Tripp jumping into the water to rescue him
