One of our favorite weekly pieces of Gossip Girl media coverage has always been the New York Magazine plus-minus reality index of the previous episode.
We've posted our official episode recap of "The Lost Boy." Now here are some highlights from NY Mag's completely arbitrary yet uniquely funny analysis:
- Of course Georgina and Dan would put a sock on the doorknob to indicate they were hooking up. College students just inherently know to do this. Plus 3, with an additional Plus 3 for Blair having no idea what this tradition meant. Oh, and Plus 1 for her putting her glove on to take the sock off.
- Plus 2 for the slow dissolution of Dan and Georgina’s relationship, starting with Dan’s awkward conversation in which he explains that they're not an "us," they're just "hanging out." Plus 3 more for Georgina then pretending to be totally cool with this out of sheer desperation.
- Someone should invent an iPhone app that allows you to speak like Chuck Bass. Like that “I Am T-Pain” app. No points. Just saying it would be cool. Even.
- Vanessa goes straight to investigating Scott at the first hint of weirdness (well, other than his scary looks, statements, hair, and clothes). Minus 4 because Vanessa would delude herself for longer.
- Really, why was everyone at the Sotheby’s auction? If Rufus wanted “everyone to be together,” as Dan said, why were Eric and Jenny not there? This whole scenario is just so absurd. Minus 4.
- When Serena showed up at the Sotheby’s auction in a rust-colored skintight bandage dress that divides her cleavage into fourths, her hair teased so high that Bon Jovi could see it from Jersey, we had to wonder: Would Serena really come dressed like that to an adult event? Yes, she would. Plus 3.

I think that Dan was wrong the way he went about Georgina, leaving her there ar the auction when they came together was totally horrible and rude. And even though G is not the most credible person, who the hell is Serena and Vanessa to judge who Dan hooks up with, Like Serena's choices are so much better, Example the Gay Play Director, The southern boy( Theif) and now Carter, I mean who is she to judge anyone, she hooks up witht he first guy she meets. The only normal guy she actually was with besides Dan was Aaron and she screwed that one up royally. And Vanessa, please Nate, then Chuck Bass then Nate and now a guy who only hooked up with her to find his parents. I think that the old Dan would of handled that with more Class, even Chuck Bass would of gic=ven her a ride home.

I loved the comment that was made tio Serena saying something alone the lines of " Your dating Carter Baizen what was it because Chuck Bass was off the market" That made me chuckle. Chair was so cute and I love that in the end Blair decided decided to let Chuck have the pictire because she "loved him". Oh so cute! Serena dress was very Serena and where the hell were the Jenny and erick? Just wondering. There new brother is totally weird and I just feel like he should heve just told Rufus I mean the lie was totally silly! Anyway I loved the show and I can't wait till the next episode! Bring on the Chair. They are totally holding the show on their shoulders now!

Minus 1000 for the Bassmaster liquidating his majority share in Bass Industries to buy a hotel, because Blair believes in him. My t-ball coach believed in me, I wouldn't risk a billion dollars for that. Beyond stupid, nobody is that dumb not even Nate or Serena for that matter.

Well I agree that that was a bad move for Chuck, but he wants to make it on his own, and you have to respect that. I don't think he spent all his money on this Hotel, I am sure he is not that stupid, plus he had to consult with lawyers, shareholders and I am sure Lily as well. Plus Chuck is worth more that one billion dollars, so he has money left over in case this does not work out.

i think it was a great episode , i loved the chair parts of it ! But i'm hoping for serenate :)
