No Chuck & Blair would not be the same with other actors. In the beginning, Serena was supposed to be THE leading lady, and Blair her bitter scheming friend. Likewise, Chuck began as a true villain, with no good qualities. Chuck was not even supposed to be a lead-lead character (more of a recurring/supporting role).
but Blake is boring, Leighton is mesmerizing, Chuck "is Chuck Bass" (thanks to Ed), Chuck & Blair went to Victrola together...and we know the rest

My comment about Chuck massage at the first scene, in case there's anybody wondering about it......
As I recall, Chuck went to Tailand in season two, I guess after his dead died...
And here, he said that he learn that (massage) at Chaing Mai, wich is some city from Tailand. =)
And knowing Chuck Bass, this kind of massage is an erotica one! LMAO
His is probably just preparing her to "One Night of Pure Chuck Bass Hot Love"! LOL
To finish....this scene is beyond sexy! hope that he go back to fix her tension by the end of the episode! XD

well if serena and nate get together blair is going to be really jealous. i think there gonan try to start a serena/blair/nate triangle later on in the season. i mean its bound to happend its liek the books. i mean i love cb but i would love to see that love triangle again. if serena and nate get together s better watch her back LOL. cute sneak peek btw. and its just my opinion. dont kill me!! I may agree that deep (very deep) down Blair would want Nate “to hold a torch” for her, as one of you very well put it. It is to be expected, not because it’s Queen B we’re talking about, but because women usually do get narcissistic when it comes to puppy love or high-school romance, call it as you it pleases you. But that’s ego-issues I believe any of us (females) have, it has nothing to do with unresolved feelings for an ex. Do you remember at what cost B had to send away the lord & the duchess in order to help N? That must have been hard… she could have chosen the V’s way of dealing with it, it would have been less humiliating for her, but she didn’t. Honestly, I totally concur with this affair (nair) being over, in my opinion it was just that: puppy love and, yes, genuine friendship, at least on the screen (again, I didn’t read the books). I actually loved the fact that Blair was given the chance to understand this on her own, while thinking C had set her free. There was no dark knight waiting, as far as she knew, and she still broke up with N and that’s how things should stay, otherwise it would be a step back and plain incoherent.
I also agree with those who see this as Chuck’s insecurity problems. That is exactly what can be expected from somebody who thought to be responsible of his mother’s death while giving birth and of his father never wanting him… Someone struggling with himself for what felt like (a very nice) eternity in order to finally say IT. He still is the most complex character portrayed in the show, except B (that should tell you why so many people love them, the actual problem is in the others lack of depth, unfortunately writers screw up with most of the other leads).
The funny thing is I also saw the physical relation between N&B more as a betrayal to C then the other way around. B’s first boyfriend was N, true, but they had broken up at the time and B’s first lover was C. There’s no way of competing with that ;) . Especially since “nobody enjoys their first time”, except her!
I believe B’s instinct on the Texan to be very accurate, without having anything to do with her history with N, although I think that maybe she might not understand right away how much of a big deal this might be to C. He will probably scheme something against Carter and therefore opposite S&N trying to defend him from Bree’s revenge, which will lead to B having to choose him over S? If you put together all the information we have for now, it sounds quite possible. Or not? What do you think?

Question: We all know that Chuck and Blair have amazing chemistry together but do you think it would have been the same if Blair's character had been played by Blake or Jessica? Is it only the characters and the script that make it so amazing to watch and Chuck would have had the same chemistry with Blake or Jessica?
NO he wouldn't. because it's NOT just about acting, trust me. LEIGHTON & Ed just have this chemistry. i mean...could you really imagine Jessica szohr playing our bitchy (at least she was before) queen B? NO FREAKIN WAY! or BLAKE? with ed? (ohmygoshhhhh...NO NO!) it's not just about the script, it's about the actors. i mean chair really shouldn't happen but the producers saw the chemistry between them and the fact they were lots of fans who started to like them!

I know Chuck is usually right in his interpretation of Blair, but in this case I just can't see it as correct. Sorry to all the Nair fans (and I think the newly large amount that are posting nowadays are simply turncoat chuck and blair fans that don't like this season), but Nate and Blair had their second go around at the end of last season with the conclusion being that their relationship could only last through high school. Blair was the one to end it, not because Chuck had declared his love for her suddenly, or any other epiphany other than that what they had was something in the past. It was her realization and they were able to end things amicably. She and Chuck got together, who by the way has turned out to be the world's most perfect boyfriend (and a lot better than nate ever was).
So it wouldn't make sense that Blair would possibly feel any jealousy over Nate's new girlfriend. If her and Nate hadn't had their second relationship last season, I could possibly see it happening. But, since they did have that we were able to come to peace on the issue: they don't fit each other anymore (not that they really ever did).
And of course, Chuck could be a little one-sided in his dislike of Carter (who knows?).
So, I take these all as evidences that Chuck, for once, is incorrectly reading Blair's perspective in this issue.
And I think the scene does not go on long enough to answer him, but if you look at her expressions during his speech, it looks like she's disagreeing. I'm hoping that this will be an episode for Blair to showcase her ability to read Chuck and resolve his insecurities, as he so often has done for her.
