although most seem to think that this episode wasn't very good, i actually think it was the exact opposite.
i know everyone feels like things are incomplete, but that's how it's supposed to be. if they closed out all the chapters in this season finale, what would you look forward to for a season two? the fact that they left the episode off with a bunch of cliffhangers will hopefully be enough to keep us all interested for next season. it was a good tactic used by the writers of the show.
adding on, i think this was the most heart breaking episode as far as season one goes. i believe that this episode may have finally put closure on lily and rufus. it seems like lily and rufus finally said their goodbyes to each other. its kind of hard to digest because they have such a big history together and it was easy to think that 20 years of love between two people could make it all the way.
as if that wasn't enough to break your heart, serena and dan put the breaks on their relationship as well. the break up between serena and dan was enough to leave viewers with that empty feeling in their gut and at the same time, put that knot in your throat as if you're about to cry but trying to hold it in. it was really sad to see them break up because they persevered through so much, but when you look back at it, dan went through 4 episodes of not knowing why serena was acting the way she was so it's kind of understandable how dan couldn't forgive serena for lying over and over to him. BUT it really does suck to think that serena was so willing to move on from it and work it out and yet, dan couldn't find it in his heart to forgive the girl he truly fell in love with. when serena was leaving dan's place and said "when i told my mom to stay away from rufus, i told her we were forever" that really gave me hope in thinking they would stay together so when they broke up, my jaw dropped.
i also think blair and nate are completely done for. nate seems to have moved on from all of that history with blair and at the same time, blair seems to be doing the exact same thing.
predictions for season two: if dan and serena don't work things out, serena and nate could end up being together. blair told vanessa "he never really got over serena" which i think may be a foreshadow for what's to come, added on to the fact that the closing scene showed serena and nate walking out of a coffee shop together sharing a laugh. it would also make sense because they come from the same high class society so it would be easier for them to have a relationship without one being so judgemental like dan was to serena. also, dan and vanessa could end up re-igniting the old flame. dan and vanessa come from the same social class and they understand each other so well because of their long history as friends and old love interests. it's very possible.
as far as blair and chuck go... who knows. blair seems to have taken interest in the new guy and chuck is obviously not ready to make any real commitment as shown in his last scene. "i'm chuck bass" was the last thing he said, clearly, he's not quite ready to change. bart seems to have really put a reality check on chuck, taking him out of the love element he was previously feeling.
ANYONE who read all of that, seriously kicks major @$$.

I was so excited about the first 3/4 of this episode. During commercials I was so giddy about it and so happy, but then when serena and dan didnt end up together I hated it. Seriously you cant break those two up, id quit watching the show. Not really but I would mos def think about it. I didnt really care about N and V, except that Chace Crawford finally got some light moments which I liked. I love blair and chuck together, but I liked not knowing what was going to happen with them. All in all not my fav episode.

it felt disjointed. i think it could've been executed alot better, especially the whole chuck being nauseatingly sweet then a skank in a span of 10 minutes. and if you're going to cheat on blair at least do it with someone that's more attractive than she is. it had it's moments though
is trachtenberg supposed to be in s2? her end was kind of anticlimactic if not amusing.

I'm actually a little confused by the finale. Did Dan really sleep with Georgina? He said he didn't but then Serena said he did....I don't know, I'm very confused. Also, I am a HUUUUUGE Lily/Rufus fan, I think their deliciously adorable. Any thoughts of them having an affair next season?? I really hope so. I was confused by the "I love you" "I love you too" scene...it seemed surreal, and it was so sweet, but then she just leaves to get married to another man and he leaves to go on tour and I don't know, it was strange.

i even cried in the end..
i love Chuck, but in the end i realy wanted to kill him!!! how he could do that to Blair?! and how could Blair do that to Chuck?! i`m confused.
and about N and S- i loved how they were laughed together!
Dan and Vanessa is creat for each other..

i want chuck and blair together now! i was so happy when i saw the episode but then everything had to be torn apart at the end, chuck and blair belong together! nate and serena, NO NO NO NO NO! and as for dan and vanessa, why, why , why? and for jenny being eleanors intern, as if! OMFG! next season better be good, and involve a lot of blair and chuck scenes, with a happy ending obviously.

did anyone notice the big white XOXO on the painting behind dan in his scene with blair (calling G)? The first half of the scene it's there, and the last half it's gone...hmmm

i dont get why chuck canceled the trip with blair, and what' the real purpose of bart sending amelia as the renovation assistant is. it's make me upset cuz im rootingfor chair

also everyone is making this big deal about S lying to D for like 4 episodes (which it was really only 3). One thing i think is interesting is that S had to lie when G first showed up, but that lasted 2 days. Then S didn't hear from G for 2 weeks after that, and one can only assume that S and D had few if not a single problem during those two weeks. The last two episodes covered about 3 or 4 days. It's not like S was lying for months at a time. Granted, she should have told D from the start that she did NOT sleep with someone else....BIG mistake on holding out on that little bit of information...but the second he heard her say that she didn't he should have realized that all of his reasons for breaking up were stupid.
I MUST know what happened with him and G. It's driving me nuts...
AND I cannot believe Chuck. My heart was racing during his speach and his dance with B, and then Bart Bass had to run his mouth and scare the bejesus out of his son. STUPID BART!
