like the way blair stood up and said all the right things, it wasn't a inmature argument, she was saying the true, serena said I could've used a friend with all kc and faked boyfriend, and then blair said you still dont get it, you are SO DEEP IN SERENAS WORLD, she has allienated herself from her family and friends, she has a job just because she knows people, she dates a guy just to not get fired, she bretayed her friend from a lifetime just for a guy who tricked a girl and stood her up on the wedding day, and still asking why blair wasnt there for her, when she tried to help on nate's family night which was on chuck's hotel.. seriuosly serena needs to clear her mind.

I alsoo love the fact that Chuck said that she was going to regreat it more, when one day she will talk about blair waldorf, the girl that used to be her friend.

i love nate so much, this is first time in gg that I like him, he was looking sexy, not pretty, and he was acting like a man, not a boy.. there is not better turn on that a man that acts like that..

still finding dan and olivia like a filler.

vanessa well I still dont like her.. but if I have to be honest with myself I also would have aired the tape, sometimes you need to think about yourselfl, well, not sometimes always, IM sorry is this sounds rude but you always have to be first then the others, what makes me mad and making me hate her is the fact that she said to nate that where is the guy she used to know, seriously vanessa you are not the same girl, you have betrayed your friends so many times, so thats whats makes me angry, she always think about herself as the good one.. please!!!

Hooray, the show I used to love is back! I don't understand why they goofed on it in the Canadian spoiler thread bc it was not bad. Au contraire! This episode was finally what I waited for.

The whole Vanessa sl was bearable until "If he's tomorrow still my friend..:" YEAH TROLL! HE IS SO CALLING YOU-the flower guy is on his way already. Honestly - lmao. That girl is so beyond weird.

Although we hadn't much of Chuck in this episode, the scenes he was in were great. All of them. From showing his place over lecturing Serena 'til cuddling with Blair. Finally some real relationship-activities.

The whole Serena Blair scenes. What can I say. I love Blair and she was amazing in this episode. She helped Serena (although she didn't want to see that) and FINALLY recognized that she can only shine when Serena is not around. But I feel sad for poor Blair. I really would love to see that she found some friends beside the NJBC. AND the line "What about that Vanessa girl?" "I never heard that name before in my life!" - lol.

Tripp is a cool guy. Although I feel sorry for the grandfather.

Dan/Olivia was cute. They are so meaningless but cute filler.

And to Jenny: For what she did last week and didn't regret it - I hope it's swine flu and she pass caused by it! But since she's going to have a lot more sls, I guess that's not gonna happen.

All in all - I loved it!

I actually really enjoyed the show.

    Chuck

I am happy to see him mature. I think it is necessary. Without having his father anymore he really needed to clean up his act or he may have lost his inheritance. He is becoming a savy businessman and a great man.

    Nate

It was good that they should his strength.  Love for family. No greater love than a man lay down his life for a friend.  I was wondering if he had just sacrifized his political future. That is what has always made Nate lovable. Do you remember when Nate was willing to get expelled to protect Blair.

    Blair

I loved Blair. I wish the writer would stop trying to bring out the worse of Blair all the time. It was good to see her have a friend outside of NSC. Too bad the friend turned out to be a call girl. I was happy that she really confronted Serena about how she had been acting. She did not even think of how her dates behavior could have beeb damaging to Trip's campaign.

    Serena

I hope she makes a change for the positive before she gets into mischieve.  Serena usually gets into trouble when she is idol. I was good to see her for the time have to face the consequence of her action.

    Vanessa

What can I say? I know many of you may not agree with me but a true friend would not expose a friend like that.  They invited you in to their family.  I think this is one reason she will never be an insider. I am thinking how do you act that way and go back to Nate's party to watch them be humuliated. I did not get it.  She is still very self righteous. She is not a good friend.Do you remember the time that Dan had some very destructive information on Chuck dad, but still choose not to expose him. Dan had my respect. Dan and Chuck did not even have the type of relationship that Nate and Vanessa had.

I got absolute chills when Chuck said the whole line about "the girl who used to be your best friend." I am sure the friends will make up, Blair and Serena are just inseperable...but it's definately going to be awhile, and the way Chuck stood up for her shows he respects this, and isn't totally downing on Blair's immaturity like he has the last few episodes. I also think it was good how the writers still showe Blair being upset about the fight afterwards, she really does care for Serena and didn't say what she said simply out of spite but for Serena to reach an actual reliazation on what she did. I hope Serena grows up, everyone else has but her.

    Chair_fan_forever,

how can you say that S did not mature?

S is probably the first one of all the characters who matured.

i mean, from the party girl serena to good girl serena?

and i don't see blair grown up. serena tried to make peace with her but B refused.

besides, it was B who nearly put S's job on a threat

actually both (BS) of them had a slow progression of maturity. it's Chuck that has been maturing all season long. rocket-high. (and go figure if that's a good or bad thing)

to be honest, i could be buying that maturity shit but it's gossip girl. i don't really care if they're being juvenile or not. SOmetimes even their sudden outbreaks of childishness makes this show interesting.

I feel like Blair was brilliant in S1 -- her composure and nasty-bitch-ness were incredible.  The bulimia thing had the potential to make her into an even more beautiful character -- to make her terrificly multi-dimensional.

And yet...ugh.  I understand that she got this "wake-up call" or whatever, but still.  Why does that mean she acts like a four-year-old?  Don't get me wrong; I love her -- but mostly because I loved her.  So I don't see where she's maturing?  In fact, I see her sliding deeper into pettiness.

And, OK -- since when is Chuck the voice of reason on this show?  I think he's a great guy this season...but am I supposed to?  I'd prefer to be a little creeped by him, because that means that his transition is steady and...normal.  I know people don't really agree with me here, but this is the same guy who, really, was a nasty guy.  (In an amusing way?)  I loved the CB interaction in Poison Ivy ("Is this your bed?" he asks Blair.  Oh, the brilliance that was!) and School Lies and those (awesome) S1 episodes.  Chuck was hilariously perverted, and I actually miss that.  I'm now going through Jacob's TWoP recap of "How to Succeed in Bassness," and it just made me think about Chuck's abrupt entrance into the "Grown Up Club."  Discontinuity and disjointedness really irk me, so I'm feeling squeamish about this season.

Also, when Chuck and Blair are talking at the end of the episode, Chuck's got his annoying eyebrow-face.  (I still love their S1 selves!)

The writers could really rock this college thing, too, but I don't think they're doing well with it.  I think it would be interesting to get to see bits of classes or things?  Instead of Blair's futile attempts to become queen of a massive, massive university?  (Really?) What is she majoring, anyways?  I will say that School Lies is one of my most favorite GG episodes because it made it actually seem like school was really part of these kids' lives.  And, really, it is (and should be).  But we're not seeing that.

So, Nate.  I'm so sad that they've pushed him to the side (because he really is pretty).  Why can't we meet his roommate?  Or learn about his Columbia friends?  This election episode (although it means the -- YAY -- possibility of Tripp/Serena) was a little weird; I'm not really interested in Nate's grandfather and this endless and confusing thing of Nate and his family.  I'd rather see Nate and his friends!

All this being said, I'm looking forward to next week!

@Cheese, i agree with you on that the writers could introduce nate's new friends - whether they are his college friends or his "political" friends.

but, i don't think it's good idea to suddenly introduce school on the show.  school and education is not of an important value to these kids.

the reason why blair wanted to go to yale was not because yale offers an amazing program in her intrest of study, but because it's yale: prestigious and elite.

like, chuck said, "...college education is just an accessory" for them.

besides, even in season 1 and 2, education was hardly depicted.i mean, have we seen serena, blair, nate and chuck doing homework together?

I think that Blair deserved getting her face shoved into cake. The girl has it coming, sometimes, and she has only herself to blame.

Also, I'm getting sick of the Ricki/Lucy thing that's been going on this season between Chair. She makes the mess half the time and it's his problem to clean up after her. Whatever.

Finally, I liked Jenny's appearance in this episode. For once, the girl did not look like a whore.
