Should an 11-year-old really be watching Gossip Girl???!!!!

Meli i agree. I do not understand why telivision is not monitored by parents anymore. I could even understand a 13 year old whatching the show, because atleast they are a teenager. The show is just way too grown up for kids. People are doing drugs, sleeping with older women, younger women, people of the same sex, stripping and these things are not for young eyes. Kids are going to do what they want to though so really it doesn't matter what we think anyway.

Yeah, I asked the same thing last week..in one of these topics. The GG characters don't really act like teenagers to me, I think it's too mature for juniors to watch :\

I personally don't think 11-year-olds should be watching the show, however, it doesn't differ much from the 13 to 14-year-olds that generate the majority of the popularity. Only two or three years.

It's sad, but kids are learning younger and younger about "adulthood". I thank the media for that. If something is too inappropriate for an 11-year-old to watch, it shouldn't be made available for that child, whether it is in an early time slot on television, or on a fairly accessible station's site that streams the shows.

Im from Scotland and our tv is not rated like it is in America but Gossip Girl is shown at 10pm which is after younger children should be in bed.

The box set was released earlier this year and some episodes have a 12 certificate and some have a 15 but overall the box set is rated as a 15

I personally think no one under the age of 13 should be allowed to watch Gossip Girl.

if you are talking about 11 yr olds then yes but people the age of 13 and up should be able too! I think your being slightly ridiculous, i live in england so i have the same rates as scottish thistle does. Scottish thistle is right, people under the age of 13 shouldnt be allowed to watch gossip girl, well my best friend does with her mum and she is 12 but her and her mum love the show.

0-15 shouldnt be watching the show. My daughter will never be permitted to watch shows containing sex, lies, drugs and manipulation at preteen age. My roof, my rules, watch TV that's FOR kids when you ARE a kid.

It's so sad that these little 9-13 year olds want to act like your 17! I assure you that it may seem appealing and the "cool" thing to do to grow up faster but once you're grown up the only thing you want to do is just be a kid all over again, but you kids won't get that until it's too late.

Haven't I brought this topic up like a hundred times before each time little teenmboopers come in a way no way I know exactly what they're going through, I go out with by bf (she's THIRTEEN!). SERIOUSLY? Damn, so sad- kids these days...

The only thing us older folks (and by older I mean 20+) is promise that we will regulate what our children watch all the way up until they move out, which for most is 18+; I plan to do exactly that.

Ok I don't get what the big deal is. I think that if you don't go out and do the things that the people in the show are doing, there is no problem. it only becomes a problem when kids go out and do these things, for example, clubbing, underage drinking, sex, etc etc. But I am 13 and would never even think about doing these things right now; I fully understand the consequences those actions could bring. If a kid does do these things because they think it's the cool thing to do because they see it on Gossip Girl, they are stupid and probably don't understand the show anyway. And their parents should now that their kid is a retard and shouldn't be allowed to watch the show.
