I thought it would either be chuck or dan bc of the books, but I can also see it working with Eric. If it does turn out to be Eric, then maybe that is why he tried to kill himself.

it is revied by an iterview with lilly van der woodsen that eric is in fact gay and is comming out in an upcomming episode

his boyfriend is JENNY's boyfriend!! dan sees eric kissing asher (jenny's new bf) and tries to tell jenny! (i think its in the may 5th episode)

But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you were kidding. :-)
But yeah, I definitely think it's Eric. Just watch him in the pilot, notably when he and Serena are in Bendels. He oozes gay. Note: I might be wrong. It's been known to happen.
