The dress that B is wearing is the same model as the one Dita von Teese wore, and it was worn by a couple of other celebrities as well. I looked over the Marchesa website when the pics first went up, which just reaffirmed the love I have for that labelled. Truly beautiful dresses, real works of art. I don't think it was made just for the show though. Not sure if it is one dress re-tailored for particular celebrities, or what, but I doubt that it was a one-off for the show. In these economic times? With an audience so small? I wonder if even Serena's dress is just a loaner. Whatever the case, they are both beautiful gowns, though I prefer the Marchesa one. I think it looks perfect on Blair.
And even though I am a solid Nair fan, I think she looks nice on Nate's arm, and I don't begrudge them the prom. It is a time to celebrate and say goodbye to high school, and I think they deserve that closure... because that is what is necessary for them - closure. Chuck deserves the rest of their lives, though ;D
The dress is less edgy, perhaps, but that ties in with the safety/comfort/conservative outlook she has in the Nair pairing.
BTW, I totally love the way the Mean Girls are outshined. Their herd mentality is so obvious in this pic - bright pinks all, and headbands as B has largely outgrown them... Classic GG!

Not so impressed by Serena's dress, but Blair's dress is so beautiful! I also love how the herd of Mean Girls look so mediocre compared to B&S! I'm super excited not only for this episode, but to see what GGI has got tomorrow for prom extras!

I love Blair's dress. I would love Serena's but I feel like we've seen a lot of very similar dresses on her before. The '80s theme with the posse is hilarious. I love how they're all pink and orange colors.

Serena looked simple yet very elegant. She looked really fabulous than ever. She was like a graceful princess ready to be swept away by her prince!
Blair was just so stunningly, breath-takingly, heart-stoppingly beautiful. She's the epitome of beauty. She's not only the 'Prom Queen', that's an understatement! She's also a goddess.
I'm really excited with the upcoming episodes! I hope they turn out really fantastic especially since it's already their senior year. Prom, graduation and the C/B awaited moment should be the highlight and the best scenarios of the season!

Love B's dress. Definitely Prom Queen worthy. And definitely something I'd like to wear.
