I have no idea where you base your information from Vikki, but Val is right these scarves are originally from Palestine, the black and grey ones most specifically whereas the red ones are Jordanian. It has become fashionable, therefore I wouldn't be surprised if they sold them in stores in Argentina. This is probably why you've seen them all over there.
