Updating a story we told you about earlier this week, the CW officially confirmed its rumored plan to put Gossip Girl on a six-week hiatus early next year.

This is part of a strategy to air three shows - Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and the new drama Life UneXpected - in two time slots with zero repeats of any.

While six weeks with no Gossip Girl is a letdown, you can sort of the logic of the CW. And at least we have each other here at Gossip Girl Insider, right?

Bottom line? Gossip Girl will air Monday, January 11 and then return on Monday, March 8, when it will air every Monday until the end of the third season.

We believe that will take place May 17 or May 24. It has not officially been confirmed. The Monday night mid-season rotation at the CW will be as follows:

January 18 – March 1                

One Tree Hill, 8:00-9:00 pm  
Life UneXpected, 9:00-10:00 pm

March 8 - April 12

Life UneXpected, 8:00-9:00 pm
Gossip Girl, 9:00-10:00 pm

April 19 – Season Finales (May 17 or 24)

One Tree Hill, 8:00-9:00 pm
Gossip Girl, 9:00-10:00 pm

When Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen launched their mens collection for Elizabeth and James, it was only a matter of time before Hollywood guys caught on.

Sure enough, Elizabeth and James for Men has been popping up all over Gossip Girl, including on Dan Humphrey in the now-infamous threesome scene.

Maybe it was the clothes that turned O and V on ...

Penn Badgley wore the Elizabeth and James Easy V Cashmere Sweater on the show, as you can see above, but it wasn't the first appearance for the line.

Dan wore two Elizabeth and James designs a week before the threesome, and last month Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) sported an Elizabeth and James suit.

Looks like a brand Gossip Girl hunks can depend on!

Blair Waldorf's attitude would not be the same without a sheer red, plump pout. Okay, it so would, but that lip color gives it a certain extra element!

In real life, Leighton Meester, the girl behind the Gossip Girl character we know and love, favors scarlet lip gloss, too. Her absolute favorite product?

"L'Oreal Infallible Plumping Lipgloss in Plumped Red gives me that extra little color and boost when I really want my lips to pop," the actress said.

The result? A gorgeous Leighton Meester ....

Ed Westwick, our own Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl, recently gave an impromptu striptease at a wedding reception in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

As the photo below testifies, the 22-year-old got into the celebratory spirit on the dance floor, unbuttoning his shirt down to the navel.

Enjoying the show? The cheering bride (who is reportedly a buddy of Jessica Szohr, Westwick's co-star and girlfriend) and a male guest.

Jessica is from Wisconsin, so that would make sense. Funny stuff ...

Everyone wants a piece of E-Dubs!

1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from the episode?

DANdy: I've grown tired of contrived fights between Blair and Serena, but this one was almost worthwhile just for B referring to S as someone that runs an "emotional Ponzi Scheme."

Gossip Guy: Haha without a doubt, Blair's lines have been stealing the show again now that the bitch is back. If I had to pick one it's when she told Jenny, "This is not your wedding day, Cotillion only happens once!" Too funny how warped her perspective is. Love you, B.

Mister Meester: Two Chuck quotes win for me: First, "Do you really think I want to spend my weekend watching women with tramp stamps working out their daddy issues?" Um, kind of, yeah! Then on the intercom: "If you two want to kiss, it won't count as cheating." Hilarious.

2. The threesome: Yay or nay?

DANdy: Nay. It was built up too much. The instant we saw Dan, Vanessa and Olivia on screen, there was no doubt who would be menageing one another's trois. If the show hadn't mentioned the scene at all, perhaps it would have been shocking and exciting. Instead, it felt lame and forced.

Gossip Guy: Look, I love threesomes as much as the next guy, but how can you really expect me to "Yay" anything involving Vanessa? Eww, could you imagine hooking up with V? V stands for vomit in this case. Sorry, even the adorable Olivia couldn't make that threesome attractive. P.S. This has nothing to do with Jessica Szohr either, I think she's gorgeous. Her character though... ugh.

Mister Meester: The deluge of Gossip Girl spoilers definitely killed the "wow" factor for me, but here's one component of it I liked: Vanessa will finally have to admit she's in love with Dan. This is one heck of a way to explore that!

Last night's Gossip Girl threesome, while definitely real and pretty hot, was at the same time fairly tame, at least compared to what some critics feared.

But fear not, next week things will get much saucier via flashbacks of the DOV shocker as the lovebirds piece together what happened, reports say.

And, according to E! Online, none other than Lady Gaga plays a role.

No, she's not joining Dan, Olivia and Vanessa in a foursome, but her visit to the show serves as a catalyst through which Dan, Olivia and Vanessa have to stay connected and work together, even more closely, for the time being.

What do you suppose that entails?

How will Dan get himself out of this mess?

Either way, everything will be messy for Dan, Olivia and Vanessa when Gossip Girl returns next week. Vanessa and Dan's relationship will be pushed to the limit.

"Things are not well," says a source, assuring us that the threesome will have lasting repercussions for all relationships involved. Guess that's to be expected.

On an unrelated note, a character is going to get in a serious accident. One that will send her to the hospital. That someone is Serena van der Woodsen.
