It's always a highlight of our week. Below are excerpts from New York Magazine's reality index of the previous night's Gossip Girl, a column never to be missed.

We've posted our official episode recap of "How to Succeed in Bassness." Now, some highlights from NY Mag and its writers' nonsensical, yet thorough analysis:

• When Serena showed up at Dan's Brooklyn apartment in a red satin halter top and miniskirt, we assumed it was because she was dressed for the opening of Chuck's club. Nope! Just Serena's everyday office look. Plus 1.
• Chuck calls Serena at home. She answers on a land line. Minus 1.
• Nate has totally been reading Endless Nights blogs. Plus 1.
• What is the deal with Eric's visor? Minus 1.

• We have a few questions about Serena's job. First of all, why does she still have it? Why does she have an office? Why is she taking it all so seriously? Why does she expect everyone else to take it so seriously? Minus 5.
• Chuck says the club will have a door policy like "the Gates." Which was a nice touch, because the club scene was in fact filmed at the Gates. Plus 1.
• Lily and Rufus's handing out Halloween candy wouldn't have conflicted with them going to Chuck's party, since kids trick or treat at like 4. Minus 2.
• Oh, and of course Chuck is planning on serving moonshine, which is totally going to be the elderflower cordial of recession-recovering NYC. Plus 2.
• The writers named Endless Nights star Patrick Roberts after Twilight's Robert Pattinson. It would have been more fun if they'd actually gotten Pattinson to guest star, but after the Mark Hamill joke, they never will. But Plus only 1, because there's no way Serena or K.C. know who Mark Hamill is.

Below is our first look at next Monday's "The Grandfather: Part II," thanks to the promo that aired after last night's Gossip Girl episode.

It promises scandal, backstabbing, lip service, deceit and mud-slinging. Nice!

Monday night's Gossip Girl featured Chuck's big hotel club opening, and our man doing what the episode's title implies - succeeding in his new venture.

Not that it was easy, though. Nor was patching things up with Blair. But all is well that ends well, and for Mr. Bass, last night clearly did on both fronts.

Serena and Blair are totally in a fight now, though, based on the former being undercut by the latter. Also in a war? Jenny and Eric. A one-sided war.

Newly-anointed queen J's power gone to her head, and it looks like her cute friendship with her sort-of-brother is a casualty. It's quite sad to watch.

Lastly, Dan and Olivia are still going strong, despite many obstacles like her sexy vampire movies or ex-boyfriends swooping in at the last moment.

"How to Succeed in Bassness" was ...

Last week on Gossip Girl, Chuck and Blair had a falling out after she used him in a scheme to take down V and win the honor of giving the NYU freshman toast.

Will they patch things up tonight? Will Chuck's much-anticipated hotel opening go as planned, paving the way for a huge career for the son of Bart Bass?

We'll find out in "How to Succeed in Bassness."

Meanwhile, Jenny's quest to rule the school comes between her and Eric, and things get interesting for Dan, who watches Olivia get sexed up in her movie.

Now that should be both awkward and funny.

We've seen some previews and promos, browsed through a photo gallery and read plenty of spoilers for tonight. All that's left is to watch - and discuss!

Looks like Blair has a new idea in mind to win over the NYU populace.

It's an idea with star power: getting Lady Gaga to do a private show!

In the November 16 episode of Gossip Girl (three weeks from tonight), the dance-pop singer will appear as herself in just that situation. Way to go, Blair!

Lady Gaga will reportedly be performing her new single, “Bad Romance.” She also knows one person who is particularly excited for her to be on the show.

“My little sister is the hugest Gossip Girl fan ever,” she told People.

Penn Badgley, Lady Gaga and Leighton Meester on the set of Gossip Girl.

The star was confirmed to be coming to the show earlier this month. The November 16 episode she'll be on is entitled "The Last Days Of Disco Stick."

The episode has already been filmed with Gaga on it.

Last week, Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester described Gaga's cameo as "really cool. It was very avant garde and kind of gothic ... it was very fun".

"She just makes a cameo, and we talk about her for awhile," added Penn Badgley. "We all have a storyline where we put on a cabaret with her songs."

Other than that, he says, "You'll have to wait and see."

Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick may not be Gossip Girl fans' favorite real-life couple, but that's probably due to V's sucking (real or perceived).

In the real world, these two are smitten with each other and going strong.

Gossip Girl stars Matthew Settle and Kelly Rutherford brought their little girls out for some early Hallowen fun at the Old Navy Pumpkin Patch in New York.

Looking at this photo, we can't help but think it'd be kinda cute if Rufus and Lily created some little half-siblings for Dan, Serena, Jenny and Eric. Right?

In any case, here's Matthew, Aven Angelica, Kelly and Helena Grace ...

A new sneak preview of next Monday's Gossip Girl has been leaked by Perez Hilton, whose website also happens to be referenced in the below clip.

We suppose if there's a hip TV show that would cross-market itself with a celebrity gossip blog, one centered around a gossip blog would be a good fit!

On to the clip from "How to Succeed in Bassness." Perez is mentioned because he's got a scoop on Olivia Burke ... picking up some condoms! OMG!

It looks like Dan (who is also featured in the clip, awkwardly talking about his relationship with Nate) could be getting lucky Monday night ...
