The NJBC of ANTI-FINALE SPOILERS (11/17/2009)
A few things I have to say about this episode.
1. I didnt mind the lack of chuck. just because he is probably the most popular character on the show doesnt mean every episode can feature a main storyline involving him. nate was barely in the 2nd or 3rd episiode of the season, and it's only fair for chuck to have a few episodes off to give nate a chance to have major storylines.
2. this episode made me lose a TON of respect for serena. here's nate, one of your best, most familiar friends, telling you you're beautiful and leaning in to kiss you, and you ditch him for his MARRIED COUSIN who you barely know. that's not right. she may not have the straightest moral compass, but i expected more of serena.
3. overall i liked this episode a lot for a few reasons. 1) the writers didn't shit all over blair like they have done for most of the season so far. she actually showed her former Queen B side when she blackmailed vanessa & olivia. 2) there were some OMFG moments, (serena & tripp's kiss) and some classic elements of gossip girl that have been missing, like bars, clubs, and drugs.
4. next week looks AWESOME. i cant wait to find out who's pregnant, and it looks like there will be some chair scenes.
