Chace Crawford is a Very Good Kisser

So says Madchen Amick.

The actress, who plays Nate Archibald’s mature, beautiful love interest on Gossip Girl, makes out with the handsome 23-year-old - and certainly causes plenty of drama in Monday's season premiere, "Summer Kind of Wonderful."

Luckily, she’s not above kissing and telling.

“Chace is a very good kisser,” Amick, 37, says. “If anyone gets the opportunity to kiss him ... he will not disappoint.”

It appears not, at least from the make-out scene in question.

The Season 2 premiere of Gossip Girl catches up with Nate and pals Serena (Blake Lively), Blair (Leighton Meester), Chuck (Ed Westwick), Dan (Penn Badgley) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen), at the end of the summer.

“[Nate] has been keeping busy having an affair with an older married woman,” Amick explains. “Things continue [with Nate], but she gets very intertwined with the other characters and there’s a lot that I’m not supposed to say.”

However, of her story arc, which she says will last four episodes, Madchen Amick will say that “she causes a lot of trouble.”

The actress, who has two teenagers, says her kids got to visit her on the set, but she didn’t let them watch her maul Crawford.

“That just would be completely wrong,” she says, though she's not against them seeing the racy — and controversial — show on TV.

“They’re very savvy. They’ve seen me do stuff in the past. They’ve seen me be a killer,” she says of her 15-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son. “They know it’s all make-believe. It’s not going to affect them.”

As for Chace's younger Gossip Girl cast mates, Amick says she’s impressed at how they’re handling all the attention.

“Everywhere these people go, when they’re filming or going home or going to dinner or whatever, there are masses of fans following them [and] huge crowds of paparazzi,” says Amick, who says she’s tried to stay out of the spotlight since starring in the eerie TV classic Twin Peaks in the early ’90s, when she was a teenager. “I really don’t envy the kids because they’re right in the middle of it."

“But they seem to be very mature, savvy, young actors. They don’t seem to be angry about it and they don’t seem to have huge egos because of it either. I don’t know where they found this group, but they all seem to have level heads.”

Chuck and Blair ... or Nate and Blair?

Ed Westwick Speaks on Return of Gossip Girl

The much buzzed-about Season 2 premiere of Gossip Girl is less than a week away - Monday, September 1 at 8 p.m. EST.

For some of us, it feels like it never left.

The gang is all over New York shooting, and we've covered it for you with extensive Gossip Girl spoilers and photos all summer long.

Now it's time to let the show speak for itself.

For one, Ed Westwick, who plays bad boy Chuck Bass, told MTV that he's happy to be back at work, with new episodes airing soon.

"It's been great," Westwick said. "It's been intense, and we're very excited to get back on the air and get back out there."

"When you're working on it, and you're on the inside of it, you don't find yourself getting caught up in the buzz," Westwick added. "But we are aware of it, and it's fantastic. It makes us feel our work is a success."

The actor could only reveal a bit about what fans have in store when the show returns. Of course, it almost goes without saying that you should expect lots of sex, drugs and pretty new faces.

"There's new characters that are going to be introduced, and there will be twists and turns and all the usual love triangles," he said. "I think the issues and things that we touched on in Season 1 will be explored more."

"Personally, my character has more of an adventure and an exploration of his motivations and why he is the way he is," Ed Westwick noted.

But what about Chuck's tumultuous relationship with Leighton Meester's social queen Blair Waldorf?

In the season finale, Chuck got cold feet about their relationship (and the hots for an interior designer), leaving Blair to jet off to France with a random business exec.

Everyone's dying to know if those crazy kids will make it work.

"Basically, we left off in season one with Chuck making the decision not to pursue Blair, and I think he spent the summer contemplating that," he said. "When we come back in season two, we see how he is with his decision."

Gossip Girl Spoiler: A New Love For Serena?

Reading Michael Ausiello's column today in Entertainment Weekly, we came across this interesting Gossip Girl spoiler we thought we'd share ...

Q: Any Gossip Girl gossip?

A: Team Schwavage (Josh Schwartz-Stephanie Savage) is going to unveil a new lust interest for Serena van der Woodsen, and I hear he's loosely based on a dude named Aaron Rose from the Gossip Girl books. Don't read? Me neither! Thank God for Wikipedia, which describes Aaron as the "herb cigarette-smoking and vegan step-brother of Blair Waldorf and son of Cyrus Rose. He drives a red Saab, and had an un-requited crush on his stepsister, Blair. Later on he dated both Serena and Vanessa, and was accepted to Harvard University."

Interesting! While we doubt that Serena's love interest will be connected to Blair in this fashion in the TV series, it will be interesting to watch if he's at all like his book character. What does everyone else think?

Q: Loving the scoop on season two of Gossip Girl, but what is going on with Vanessa and Jenny? Clearly they are not chilling in the Hamptons!?

A: Jenny has been an intern for Blair's mom, Eleanor, and is clearly moving on up because she'll even make a surprise appearance at the infamous White Party (as discussed in full detail in Gossip Girl Insider's official recap of "Summer Kind of Wonderful"). As for Vanessa, a new, scandalous romance brewing, and a lot of people don't like it one bit. (Hint: older man.)

Q: What's going on with those hot boys on Gossip Girl?

A: Nate is still in financial trouble (thanks, Daddy!), but he gets a loan from a new friend to help cover the difference. And Chuck... well, Chuck will make you squeal like a 13-year-old girl (especially if you are a 13-year-old girl) when he gets close enough to a certain Upper East Side lady to swap spit with her. Yes, Chuck Bass is kissing someone, and we think you'll very much like who!

Taylor Momsen: New York's New "It Girl"

The young woman who approached the table by the window at the Pinkberry on Eighth Avenue and 18th street was nervous, breathless.

She was sorry to interrupt, and sorry to be a bother, she said. It was just that she just loved Taylor Momsen sooooo much.

The just-barely-15-year-old Momsen, who plays aspiring social queen bee Jenny Humphrey on the CW show Gossip Girl, gave the woman — who looked to be at least in her mid-20s, and was clutching a napkin and shaking like a whippet in winter — a warm, practiced smile and helped her locate a pen and piece of paper so she could sign the autograph on something suitable.

Taylor Momsen scribbled her name with a girlish flourish and offered a friendly wave goodbye as her fan skipped elatedly out the door.

It’s a regular occurrence now for a girl, who, over the summer, has become the obsession of a strange and ragged slice of New York.

Even as her co-stars have ascended the ladder of celebrity gossip-worthiness— the golden-locked goddess Blake Lively and the impressively sideburned Penn Badgley have had a very public romance, while the dandy-dressing, secretly English Ed Westwick has hardly been shy about his carousing — Momsen has emerged as the show’s true It Girl: admired, lusted after and, of course, scorned.

Girls and young women covet her fashion (which ranges from bright, simple and sophisticated to mix-and-match punk).
Boys and men — in their teens, 20s and beyond — can’t help but be drawn to her beauty (even as that fact could make them uncomfortable).
And there are the requisite haters, too, so unnerved by Ms. Momsen’s uncanny poise and sudden ubiquity that they can’t help but snipe at her.

As photos of her — on location for Gossip Girl, making the rounds at parties and movie premieres, riding the subway around NYC — pop up on celebrity news blogs and websites, they’ve also collected captions and comments snarky and vicious enough to be straight from the cell phone of Gossip Girl’s eponymous blogger.

“Our thanks to Taylor Momsen and Ali Lohan for making 14 the new 35,” wrote a commenter on Gawker, under a photo of the actress in a froofry yellow frock at the Fifi fragrance awards in May.

Captions for other snaps have included “Little Bitch Stops for Itch” (this was later changed) and “Taylor Momsen Forgot her Pants.”

But is it Taylor Momsen we love to love, and love to hate?

Or Jenny Humphrey, who practically ran away with the show last season as she plotted her path to the top of the prep school food chain?

Taylor Momsen understands how people get confused.

“It’s funny because I forget that I look the same — you know, that I look the same all the time,” said Ms. Momsen, as she spooned original-flavored Pinkberry yogurt covered in Fruity Pebbles into her mouth.

“I have two different modes: I have my on-set mode, and then I have my mode with my friends and family. My Taylor mode. And when I’m in my Taylor mode, I forget people still see me as Jenny. It takes a minute.”

If we can’t remember, it may be because we don’t want to.

She may be a teenage social-climbing bitch, but Jenny Humphrey has lifted Gossip Girl from sudsy teen drama to genuinely gripping television, and brought us the most lovable villain we’ve seen in ages.

The Poetry of Ed Westwick

He plays the ever-arrogant Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl, but Ed Westwick has a surprising sensitive side — and a way with words.

“I’ve been writing a lot of poetry recently,” Westwick, 21, told People magazine. “It helps me think and work things out.”

Westwick shared with the celebrity news magazine a poem from memory that he wrote “at like six in the morning” recently.

Just don’t read too much into the words.

“Nothing I’ve been writing has a definitive point of aim,” the actor says. “I feel like you just need to keep writing until the writing itself just begins to take shape.”
