Dan and Serena may be over, at least for this summer - but Penn Badgley has opened up about his romance with Blake Lively.
The Gossip Girl star told E! Online this week:
"Obviously, there's chemistry there ... She's a great girl."
Penn Badgley, 21, said "we have to draw a line at some point with our personal lives. Otherwise, you know, when do people stop?"
Despite recently photographed kissing Blake Lively, 20, on Mexico's Mayan Riviera, Badgley said he's "not a fan" of on-set romances.
"I think they cause a lot of drama," he said.
"God, I'm being so cryptic."
The actor who plays Dan Humphrey said he is still getting used to the fact that he's become a heartthrob.
The romance of Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively and Penn Badgley was met with parental approval of sorts from Matthew Settle, who plays Penn's on-screen dad, Rufus.
It's only appropriate that actress Kelly Rutherford, who plays Lily, Lively's mom, gives the couple a thumbs up too.
"I think they're so lovely," Rutherford said Thursday in Beverly Hills.
She says Blake Lively and Penn Badgley benefited by experiencing Gossip Girl's soaring popularity together as their chemistry gelled.
"To be able to go through this ride and success and to have somebody to do that with and share that experience, I think they're both very fortunate," Rutherford said.
Kelly Rutherford (Lily) plays mom to Blake Lively (Serena).
The actress also says the Gossip Girl cast and crew had no trepidation about the couple, or fears of on-set fallout if things don't work out between them.
"No, because they've known each other for a long time," she says. "They're both so together and whatever happens is their business. I think they're both darling and very together as people."
Still, Kelly Rutherford jokingly admitted she's not always on the inside track of the relationship:
"Of course, the 'mother' is always the last to know."
They aren't nearly high enough in our opinion, but Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively (#43) and Leighton Meester (#48) both made Maxim's list of the 100 Hottest female stars. Way to go, girls!
Since Leighton Meester's character on Gossip Girl is named Blair Waldorf, you knew she'd be catty and manipulative right off the bat.

But now that it's out in the open, he says, "I think it's nice."
Settle offered fatherly insight about Penn Badgley and Blake Lively on his way to The CW upfront party at The Bowery Hotel in New York May 13, which the Gossip Girl cast attended.
Asked if he had advice for his Gossip Girl son, Matthew Settle answered simply, "In real life, Penn rolls with the punches better than anybody ... I don't think he needs any advice."
About keeping the relationship a secret before it was revealed, Penn's TV Dad said he didn't "want to be too intrusive. I made my own assumptions. But I didn't want to talk about it, to get involved."
