Maybe there’s not as much acting as you thought on the set of Gossip Girl, according to a report in today’s Chicago Sun-Times.
It’s not the first time we’ve heard this gossip, but it’s still worth posting. And this time, Chace Crawford is also involved.
A show staffer reports that there’s no love lost between stars Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf), Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald) and Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen) - at least the last time they were together.
The writers’ strike has shut down production of the hit CW series for months, though it’s now over, with new episodes set to return this spring.
“At times it was so ugly, people only would talk to each other when they had to - delivering lines in a scene,” said the source.
“What’s funny … when they would be throwing really bitchy lines at each other, it was often things [the actors] really thought about each other.”

Perhaps real-life jealousy and intense competition for media attention is helping give Gossip Girl the edge that we love to see?
“They all put on a good front - pretending to be so buddy-buddy whenever they’re doing press - but once they don’t think anyone’s listening, they really let fly with some nasty stuff,” said the source.

That’s for sure on both counts. Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford admired the vehicles at the Sony CIERGE/Tenjune New Luxury Cocktail Reception at the Audi Phoenix Forum in Phoenix, Ariz., on January 31.
Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively and Chace Crawford kept it classic at Old Navy’s Celebration of “New Year, New Old Navy” Thursday at NYC’s Eyebeam Atelier (a not-for-profit arts and technology center).

A few photos from Chace Crawford’s personal MySpace account have been leaked online. Sorry, ladies, there are none of this actor in the buff or even in the half-buff.
But the following examples do make it look like Chace and his Gossip Girl co-stars get along well. That’s always nice to see:

Does Chace Crawford mind his new role as a television heart throb? Not exactly.
“I can’t complain” Crawford said during a recent interview.
From there, though, the young actor did complain. Sort of. He said he wishes he could do other things with his character.
“I love the lighter scenes, I wish there was more of them,” Crawford said.
Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley and the rest of the Gossip Girl cast are adjusting to the spotlight.
Penn Badgley, meanwhile, actually says his life isn’t so different from before, despite the success of Gossip Girl.
“It’s funny, people say it’s a big hit, and they say things like, ‘You’re turning into a star,’ but my life has not changed for the most part,” he said. “We’re working everyday, so we don’t see it as much.”
The reality of the show’s popularity comes sharply into focus when the cast travels to the Upper East Side to shoot scenes on location, says Badgley.
“I’ll get mobbed by literally 40 school girls. It’s like being a full fledged star, and that’s surreal.
Crawford can recall one specific incident that stood out as particularly strange.
“Me and Ed Westwick were walking to set, and fans were surrounding us, like this donut of walking girls.”
So is the Dallas native’s entire family, apparently!
“His whole family loves her,” a friend of the reported couple tells Us Weekly this week. “They are really perfect for each other.”
Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford: Still on!
After the American Idol winner, 24, spent Thanksgiving with the Gossip Girl hottie, 22, at his parents’ home in Dallas, she joined his relatives on part of her Christmas vacation as well, the magazine reports.
“They spent Christmas together and had a wonderful time,” a source says. “His parents are fond of her and think she’s extremely talented. And they believe “Carrie Crawford” would be a great addition to the family!”
While loving Chace Crawford (don’t we all) Carrie Underwood has no regrets about her July split from Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
“She thanks her lucky stars she isn’t with Tony anymore!” adds the Us source. “She thinks it’s a joke he’s with Jessica Simpson and sees him as a player. Carrie and Chace call him ‘the player’ and Jessica ‘the ditz.’”

Between the three of them, Penn Badgley is the biggest player, Ed watches the most chick flicks and Chace? Well, he got burned. He apparently spends the most time in front of the mirror, likes the worst music, tells the worst jokes and takes advantage of the most celebrity perks! Oh, snap!
