Gossip Girl Fashion Breakdown: It's a Wonderful Lie

This week's episode, "It's a Wonderful Lie," featured some outrageous and gorgeous Gossip Girl fashion - both before and after the Snowflake Ball.

Below, our Gossip Girl fashion contributor, the fabulous Liza L., breaks down the episode, telling us where we can get some of its amazing looks ...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The pre-party stretch of "It's a Wonderful Lie" was not only very intriguing (but not as mysterious and dark as the ending) but slightly chaotic.
Blair Waldorf wore a beautiful Alice & Olivia Jabot Dress with Yellow Horseshoe belt ($385, here) with Marc by Marc Jacobs Kitten Heel Patent Pump in Acid (here) and a Rachel Leigh Audrey Enamel Bangle ($61, here).
For her part, Serena paraded a number of gorgeous outfits while preparing for the ball, among which was a combination of a Marc by Marc Jacobs Etta Sweater ($348.60, here) and a Mulberry Mirror Metallic Bayswater Tote ($1,395, here).
Serenaaron
The outfit that Serena chose for her awkward double date with Aaron, Dan and Lexi was accompanied by her favorite Celine Watch Me Work bag ($2,100, here) and a Diane von Furstenberg Wexford print top (here). On the same double date, Lexi was wearing a What Comes Around Goes Around Tobacco Garbo Jacket ($346, here).
Chace Crawford: To Bang or Not to Bang?
Chace Crawford's, or more accurately, Nate Archibald's man-bangs have become a fan-favorite look (just ask Gossip Guy in our staff's Round Table discussions).
But at an event the other night (below, left), the Gossip Girl hottie cleaned up those trademark strands of hair, morphing into a typical, Upper East Side prepster.
What do we think? Bangs or no bangs?
Gossip Girl Fashion Breakdown: "The Magnificent Archibalds"
This week's episode, "The Magnificent Archibalds," featured some pretty magnificent Gossip Girl fashion statements as well as drama and scandal.
Below, our Gossip Girl fashion contributor, the fabulous Liza L., breaks down the episode, telling us where we can get some of its amazing looks ...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The fashion in this episode was as magnificent as the Archibald family... or at least what the Archibald family was before its epic downfall.

Lily van der Woodsen had the best dress of the episode - Hugo Boss (not available on-line), Christian Louboutin simple pumps in Nude ($575, here) and jewellery from the Stephen Dweck Odessa collection (here).

Serena debuted a cascade of gorgeous outfits. When she stops at Blair’s apartment, she wears a Mayle Odette Coat: ($885, here) and a Chanel black quilted jersey flap shoulder bag ($3,080, here). At the Thanksgiving party, she wore a stunning combination of a Porter Grey skirt and a silk Charmeuse t-shirt ($112, here), along with Ginga Nine West shoes (here) and a Stephen Dweck Multi-strand necklace (here).

Mom and DaughterFlowers!

Vanessa fashioned a pure look of autumn spirit in an Anna Sui Splendor and Shape dress (approx. $550, here) and tall Minnetonka Fringe Boots ($88, here).

Jenny, at the end of the day, enjoyed Thanksgiving is a stunning Kova & T Amsterdam Tee in Burnout Black ($77, here), accessorized with Tarina Tarantino Gothic Lolita Pink Head Crystal - framed ring ($88, here) and an Alexis Bittar necklace (here).

Blair keeps her tradition of a blue-trench in a Stresis coat (here) and an Alexandra Vidal fall/winter 2008 dress (not available online).

Gossip Girl Fashion Breakdown: "Bonfire of the Vanity"

Last night's episode of Gossip Girl, "Bonfire of the Vanity," gave us not only Jenny's story line, but plenty of eye-opening fashion material to discuss.

Below, our Gossip Girl fashion contributor, the fabulous Liza L., breaks down the episode, telling us where we can get some of its amazing looks ...

What could be more stylish on the Upper East Side than the birthday of the Queen B herself? Perhaps only the preparation to this magnificent event.

Probably you all noticed it before, but it is never late to state the following fact – Blair loves Marc Jacobs. Don’t believe me? Here’s the evidence:

Another preppy outfit, with a pink twist, both on skirt and shirt: Marc by Marc Jacobs Bright Plaid Skirt ($328, here), Alice & Olivia Ruffle-Front Ombre Tee ($198, here), and the dress in the same pattern – Marc by Marc Jacobs Scribble Houndstooth dress ($460, here).

While scheming against Cyrus, Blair needs to wear something special, but classy: Cynthia Steffe skirt ($105, here) and top (here), and Manolo Blahnik shoes (here).

Meanwhile, Serena (with THE bag of the episode) tries out the (technologically) carefree relationship with Aaron (here), Miu Miu Nappa Patch Tote ($1,572, here) and Edun Althea Sleevles Top ($215, here), jacket Gryphon (here).

My favorite dress of the episode was worn by Blair – a gorgeous Alice & Olivia Women’s Ombre Combo Trellis Print Dress ($440, here).

Serena and Blair Pic

The party outfits were absolutely stunning – Blair in Bill Blass Flamenco Backless Blouse ($1,990, here) and Serena in Armani dress (similar, $269, here) were definitely the Gossip Girl fashion highlight of this particular episode.

For each of these occasions, the girls needed a new outfit:
