This isn’t a Gossip Girl spoiler in the true sense, as we don’t fully know the answer. But we think we are getting closer to figuring out Serena’s secret thanks to a new clip and a comment by one of our readers.
Calling attention to the promo clip for next Monday’s episode, “All About My Brother,” this Gossip Girl fan has an interesting theory as to just what the heck Serena and Georgina did.
Our guess: Nate. Or some other dude. What we’re saying is that it looks like a Serena van der Woodsen (gulp) sex tape might exist.
Check out the clip below and see what you think.
Distressed, Serena is watching a video on her laptop, in which there appear to be female and male voices speaking her name, followed by moaning of some kind. Yeah. This looks scandalous …

While we’ve been fixated on the two biggest Gossip Girl spoilers - who comes out of the closet, and Serena’s secret - here’s another we came across this morning.
An insider on the set of Gossip Girl reports that someone on the show overdoses in the second-to-the-last episode this season.
That would be the week after next. “All About My Brother” is the next Gossip Girl episode, set for May 5. “Woman On The Verge,” scheduled for May 12, is the episode in question.
“Things go down, there’s a lot of OMG moments,” star Chace Crawford recently revealed on E!’s Daily 10. “It’s good.”
Which of these characters will suffer an overdose on Gossip Girl? Or will it be someone new? Got any ideas? Share them with the Insider!
Thanks to a slip from Kelly Rutherford, we already know which male Gossip Girl character will be revealed as gay in an upcoming episode.
The fact that it’s Eric van der Woodsen (Connor Paolo) is not too shocking, given that of all the Gossip Girl characters pictured below, he’s the only one without a steamy hookup or romance plot line so far.
But it’s the way Eric is outed that is the true jaw-dropper in all of this, writes Kristin Veitch ofE! Online. OMG. For the deets of this juicy Gossip Girl spoiler, you’ll have to follow the jump …
Gossip Girl fan sites and celebrity news blogs have been abuzz that a male, gay character on the CW show will be revealed.
Well, star Kelly Rutherford (Lily van der Woodsen) — who plays the mother of Serena (Blake Lively) and Eric (Connor Paolo) — accidentally let that Gossip Girl cat out of its bag in an interview. It’s Eric!
Kelly Rutherford ends any doubt about this Gossip Girl spoiler.
She let it slip to Us Weekly at a Sylvania event in New York City that it’s “her son” (as unanimously predicted in our Round Table) who comes out of the closet - and that the story line is “very well done.”
We’ve uncovered a photo of the amazing Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) in an upcoming episode of Gossip Girl. He’s kissing another character … and it’s not Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively).
Consider yourself warned. Follow the jump for a scandalous Gossip Girl spoiler you never saw coming … or who knows, maybe you did.

We didn’t believe the rumors either, until this pic was snapped and sent to us. It sure looks like Nate and Vanessa swapping spit to us, as Chace Crawford and Jessica Szohr shoot scenes for a new episode…
Nate and Vanessa? OMG, WTF! Well, guess it’s better to keep her away from Dan and Serena. Vanessa was really getting on our nerves in that regard. Still… Nate!? What are your thoughts on this Gossip Girl spoiler?
Who’s gay? How do they come out? Why did Serena leave and then come back, anyway? TV Guide’s Ausiello Report may not answer these burning questions from the Gossip Girl universe, but there are some interesting tidbits in it. See below (minor spoiler alert) …
Question: Out with it - who’s gay on your newest obsession, Gossip Girl?
Ausiello: My loose lips are sealed. Except to say that in the first two episodes back, the individual in question will come out, get a love interest and make out with said love interest — and not necessarily in that order.
Question: At Paley Fest, Blake Lively told you that sleeping with Nate isn’t the real reason Serena left. I know you know something.
Ausiello: I know that Michelle Trachtenberg holds the key to that little secret, and I wouldn’t think of spoiling it here. What I will spoil is the real reason Blake Lively bolted from the stage immediately after the Gossip Girl panel Saturday night — and it wasn’t to escape the gaggle of fans that swarmed the dais, as some in the media have speculated. Anyone who was standing within three feet of Lively as she raced out of the auditorium (i.e., me) could clearly hear her begging someone — anyone — to point her to the nearest bathroom because she had “to pee for the last hour!” Within seconds, a security guard jumped into action, escorted her to the loo and then back to the stage, where she joined the rest of the cast in signing autographs. Consider the record set straight.

Here’s a potentially big Gossip Girl spoiler for you. It was reported yesterday by TV Guide that “a male character on Gossip Girl will be revealed to be of the gay persuasion when the show returns on April 21.”
In the book series, Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) played for both teams, so he’s an option, although the books have provided only a loose interpretation of what we’ve seen on The CW’s Gossip Girl so far.
We think that Eric van der Woodsen (Connor Paolo), Serena’s little brother, or the always mysterious Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick, pictured) might be more likely candidates to come out of the closet.
What do you think, fans of Gossip Girl? Who will be revealed to be a gay character when Gossip Girl returns Monday, April 21?
TV Guide sleuth Michael Ausiello was on hand at the Gossip Girl panel at Paley Fest ‘08, in which the entire Gossip Girl cast, plus author Cecily von Ziegesar, executive producers Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Bob Levy, and Entertainment Weekly’s Tim Stack were all on hand.
Here are his highlights from the event, which was chock full of Gossip Girl news, spoilers and, well, gossip. Take it away, Michael …
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shhhhh: In lieu of an episode, Schwartz introduced an extended clipathon of Season One so far, plus a bonus outtake reel. Throughout the clip package, there was an inordinate amount of whispering and giggling coming from the row behind me. Turns out, the entire cast had snuck in after the lights dimmed, and Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley, Leighton Meester and Blake Lively were right behind me!
They really are BFFs: Right before they were brought up on stage, I observed Meester and Lively frantically (and giddily) touching up each other’s makeup. And at that precise moment, all was right in my world.
The other GG: There were some Gilmore Girls fans on hand. I know this because when Matthew Settle (Rufus Humphrey) mentioned that his wife was a fan, a mini riot erupted in the mezzanine.
Hair today, gone tomorrow: True blonde Leighton Meester wore a brown wig when she auditioned for Blair. Once it became clear that she was going to get the part, producers asked her to lose the wig and dye her mane instead.
Moving on a budget: Settle revealed that the CW gave the cast each $6K to relocate to New York, which he joked is about enough to cover the rent on a bathroom.
Class act: Kelly Rutherford shared a story about the scary lengths to which some paparazzi will go to snap pics of the cast that only made me love her more. Recalling a recent incident in which a photographer nearly got run over by a cab while trying to take her picture, she remembered telling him, “Please … I’m the mom. [Blake Lively] is coming in a minute.”
Gossip Girl’s possible real-life couple, Penn Badgley and Blake Lively, were spotted smooching while shopping on 5th Ave. Saturday.
That’s according to the New York Daily News, which also reports that before the writers strike shut down production, things had gotten quite clique-y on the set of the sexy freshman CW hit.
Also, if you don’t want to know the identity (at least according to the Daily News) of the title character — an unseen narrator voiced by Kristen Bell — the mother of all Gossip Girl spoilers (which we don’t believe) lies ahead.
“Leighton Meester and Blake Lively avoid each other like the plague while castmates choose sides,” says a snitch on the set.
NOTE: Blake Lively denies this in the new Teen Vogue.
“Chace Crawford tends to stick close to Leighton, while Penn Badgley hangs on and offscreen with Blake,” the spy said. “The crew will snag Blake for a scene just moments before it is shot so they can avoid any awkwardness with Leighton.”
If that’s true, it’s so high school!
And as for the Gossip Girl spoiler about the title character’s identity?
“Since the writers’ strike, the team hasn’t decided how or when to reveal who Gossip Girl is, but it is Eric van der Woodsen (Connor Paolo).”
An encore presentation of this past week's amazing Gossip Girl episode.
"Woman on the Verge"
Mon., May 12, 8 p.m. (NEW, episode 1.17)
Georgina reveals the true reason Serena left Manhattan. Her friends Blair, Nate and Chuck - in order to help her - have to put their differences aside. Serena is too ashamed to share the truth with Dan. Rufus is excited to perform at a concert, and Lily is the last person on earth he expects to see there.
GOSSIP GIRL QUOTE OF THE WEEK
Gossip Girl: Don't look so sad little J! The sun will come out tomorrow, even though your boyfriend did today.
