No word on whether Nastia Liukin will be playing herself or acting in some capacity, but this awesome athlete will certainly fit in with the gorgeous cast of Gossip Girl, which has become TV's hottest drama. She rocks.

Looks like Dan Humphrey may have some serious competition.

E! Online reports that some new Gossip Girl characters have officially been cast, including former OC star Willa Holland, and even more significantly, a new love interest for one Miss Serena Van der Woodsen (Blake Lively).

According to insiders, John Patrick Amedori has been cast as Aaron Rose, who was a major character in the Gossip Girl book series.

He's an artist who will serve as a love interest for Serena in Season 2, and he has a philanthropic side which gets "S" all aflutter.

Looks like storm clouds on the horizon for poor Dan.

Rufus had better start shopping around for a cute designer shock collar to place on unpredictable Jenny Humphrey, 'cause it looks like Little J is going to be dabbling even deeper into the dark side this season.

According to several inside sources, a deal closed a few hours ago for Willa Holland, best known as Kaitlin Cooper on The OC, to come on board the cast of Gossip Girl in Season 2 for three episodes.

She'll play Agnes, a 16-year-old model who meets Jenny while working for Blair Waldorf's badass fashion designer mother, Eleanor Waldorf, and is supposedly anything but a good influence. Thoughts?

Looks like Serena van der Woodsen is getting a new pal.

Tamara Feldman, last seen on Dirty Sexy Money, has joined the Gossip Girl cast as Poppy, a fellow socialite-in-the-making.

"She's a friend," Tamara told OK. "They start hanging out together."

Luckily, Poppy's not a "friend" like Georgina Sparks.

"I actually try to get Serena to her to stand up for herself a little bit more," Feldman said, adding that she won't appear until the 5th episode of Season Two, but already feels the frenzy that the show causes.

"Last week, we shot in Chinatown. If you opened the door, there were all these little girls out there screaming," she said.

Fortunately, Tamara Feldman has already dealt with being in the spotlight - and the celebrity gossip that comes with it. She was in the film Perfect Stranger with Bruce Willis - and mistakenly identified as the star's new love interest.

"They took a picture of me in a nurse's outfit with [Willis] from the movie set, and a photographer made it look like it was real," she laughed. "He was picking me up in this window. It was funny. Later, they revealed it was for the movie."

A well-known Manhattan socialite, Tinsley Mortimer, apparently has agreed to make a cameo appearance on Gossip Girl this fall.

Tinsley Mortimer, along with regulars Blake Lively and Taylor Momsen, were spotted in white dresses on Monday morning, walking to the set of Gossip Girl on Long Island's Hamptons region!

Last season, another prominent New York socialite, the publishing heiress Lydia Hearst, made a cameo on the season finale.

Chuck and Blair? Blair and Nate? Neither?

What will transpire when Gossip Girl returns?

Gossip Girl spoiler sources are spilling on the latest romantic happenings on theUpper East Side, and E! Online says the show's original "it" couple, Nate and Blair, aren't reconciling any time soon.

The reason for that? A certain new cougar ready to pounce!

That foxy older woman is Mädchen Amick, who, according to CW insiders, will appear in the season 2 premiere on September 1 and is expected to hang around for at least 4-5 episodes. Scandalous!

Is Nate Archibald ready for some cougar action?

Word is, Mädchen is heavily involved in Nate's storylines and also has "a surprising connection to another new character on the show." What? Who could it be? That we'll have to wait and see.

Still, if Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald) has his way, this won't be the last of his love interests by any means.

"Nate's kissed every girl on the show, and I think it's going to keep going toward that direction," the young star said. "Well, except Mrs. Van der Woodsen ... but just give it time!"

As for Queen B, don't feel too sorry for her.

The Upper East Side is about to get even hotter. Cougar style. On Season 2 of Gossip Girl, an older woman named Catherine Mason will tempt Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) with some hot, May-December romance!

Catherine Mason will be played by Madchen Amick, last seen in CBS' Viva Laughlin as the wife of a small-time casino owner. Amick will join the cast when Gossip Girl returns with new episodes September 1.

In a strange piece of Gossip Girl news, Star Magazine reports that Nicole Richie will have an appearance as a guest star

The details are not certain right now, to say the least, but an insider close to Richie told Star the following:

"Nicole's life has settled down a bit after having her daughter Harlow, she's eager to get back to work."

"She's keen on pursuing an acting career and she loves Gossip Girl."

What do you think of Nicole Richie appearing on Gossip Girl? Will it actually happen - and would she be a good addition?

We liked The OC at the start, but we're not all that thrilled about recent rumors saying Mischa Barton is joining the Gossip Girl cast.

TV Guide's Michael Ausiello reports that Mischa Barton being offered a role is now confirmed, but what isn't certain is whether or not a deal will actually be struck for her to play the recurring role of Georgina Sparks.

Georgina is reportedly going to a "scheme queen" who brings the past of Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) into her present. She would be introduced to the show, presumably, when it returns April 21.

Executive producer Josh Schwartz, of course, killed Mischa Barton off of The OC, and how runs Gossip Girl, the new CW hit series.

What do you think, Gossip Girl fans? Will Barton fit in with the Gossip Girl cast? Or is the show better off with lesser-known stars?

We believe the latter, as we've really enjoyed the work of relative unknowns Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, but want to hear your views.

UPDATE: Mischa's rep has told Us Weekly that the deal is off: "She will not be on the show. She was approached, but passed." Don't get us wrong, we're happy she bailed, but she could've let us talk about it a bit ...

And when it does, a pretty new face may be part of the cast: Russin model/actress Eliska Sursova is in talks to join the series. She'd portray a love interest for Chuck Bass, which is intriguing.

We didn't know Chuck was capable of love.

Sursova was born on Valentine's Day, 1988, in Manhattan. Previous television appearances have included guest starring stints on House, Boston Public and ER.
